Hello everyone! 🌈

Now that  Apple Pay has officially launched in The Netherlands 🇳🇱, would it be an idea to add it to the payment 💰 options for requests (also bunq.me links!), along with iDEAL and SOFORT. It would add a lot of possibilities for all residents of the EU where there is Apple Pay support 🇪🇺. Let me know what you think about this, and if you'd like to see this, please leave a high-five 🙌🏻

Oh hell yeah, that’s one of the best ideas I’ve seen in some time! Of course not only for the Dutchies, but worldwide. I mean, that means someone with Apple Pay in the US could pay the payment request in EUR as well! Makes things easier!

Mtouch This concerns the possibility to also have a bunq payment request (or have it paid) by Apple Pay. You do not always know in advance which payment option the other person has and more options than just iDEAL or Sofort seems to me very nice. Payments via credit / debit card are also regularly requested.

That is something very different (and currently only available in the USA) than Apple Cash where you can transfer dl to each other via an iMessage. You can then only pay with Apple Pay with it, while money that you get through a payment request in your bank account can also transfer with iDEAL etc.

JeroenE I totally agree ... only if I see how long it took for Apple Pay to be introduced in the Netherlands (and then NOT even fully), I see such a micro-service like this happen soon. Apple still wants an amount per transaction. When paying from private to private, there is not even a merchant involved, so 1 of the 2 banks (sender / receiver) will have to pay for the costs. Well, we have seen how long it can take for people to get out of something like that in NL. 😂
Again, I would love it, but I don't think it will happen that soon.

Mtouch At Sofort and iDEAL, payment must also be made per transaction. Or is the price that Apple charges many times higher?

I also believe that Apple does not have to introduce this separately in the Netherlands. bunq only has to bunq that option via the payment request. They will probably have to request something from Apple to be able to do this, of course. Just like you have to request something or offer iDEAL on your website as a payment option. But for Apple that request is of course nothing more than when the HEMA, AH, Blokker or any other web store requests this. And that a Dutch web store requests this is of course logical now because Apple Pay is allowed in the Netherlands and this was not the case before.

JeroenE There is still a rumor that Apple wants 0.15% per transaction. So if bunq is going to offer that and take on the costs, it must be able and willing to cover that with a premium subscription.
