• Rooted Android devices

I need to Root my phone. I know that Android Pay will not work but will bunq still be ok?

    I hope bunq doesn't let users with potentially compromised devices connect to there infrastructure. 🤞

      Im using Bunq like every other app on my rooted android phone :)

        Rooting is essential for using older devices, since there are no official firmware updates anymore.(in fact, its not necessary, but no third-party firmware i know has no root-access)

        Rooting doesn't mean your device is insecure, sometimes you can even use more secure software and remove some of the preloaded (possible insecure) third-party apps.

        Also to mention: You can hide the fact that your device is rooted for specific apps, so an app can't reliably detect if a device is rooted.. ;)

          Also works on jailbroken iPhone without problem, it only displays a message that iPhone is jailbroken

              Today tap and pay didnt work... And this evening I saw the notification about my rooted Note8. This was the first time I saw something like this. Do these two things have to do with each other?

                @Aarnout-Lime-Panda#27546 Tap&Pay was broken after update #8, I don't know if it was resolved today, but I guess that might be why T&P didn't work before this update :)

                  Rooted devices are allowed, but not supported. So when you encounter bugs etc. the advise will most likely be to use a non-rooted device. 🙂

                    @Diesse-Cyan-Jaguar#27552 HI Diesse, I didn't noticed any problems or glitches after update 8 on my Note8 📱.

                      @JohnDo#27563 Haha I (and a few others) did 🙂 when you tap the terminal it said "use the magnetic stripe". Haven't tried it yet with the update of yesterday.

                        I currently have the problem that the terminal says "use only one card" :(
                        But bunq is the only app i know that does not care about Jailbreak or root. Even one of the biggest super markets in Germany is reminding me about the jailbreak.

                          @Tobias#27832 Are you sure you don’t have another nfc enabled card in your phone case for example?

                            Got a mokee rom on my phone (detected as rooted although it isn't), working like a charme. Except of nfc functions (I don't care about them either)
