• Card issue US

Hi, I am in vacation In NYC and my Bunq card is not accepted for pin payments or any payments. What can I do to get access fast given this is my card for the trip?

    @Ioana-Golden-Bear#101074 What kind of card are you using (Maestro, Mastercard Debit, TravelCard)?

    Did you try to adjust the allowed countries in the settings of the card?

      @Samzoiets#101075 Hi Sam, thank you for reaching out quickly. Countries set up in my profile were Europe and United States so far. Still not working here. I changed it to Worldwide. Should this work or is there another option that I might use?

        @Ioana-Golden-Bear#101076 In other cases the country setting turned out to be the issue, so that should work.

        On the matter of the kind of card, please make sure that the stores and ATM's accept your card type. Maestro is knows to be poorly accepted outside of Western Europe.

        When you have Mastercard, it can be useful for us on Together to know which error is displayed in your app under Events. As we are not the Support team, we don't have access to your data.

          @Ioana-Golden-Bear#101074 I had a similar situation this week. My card was not accepted in the hotel in the US with an error of “incorrect pin”. It did, however, work everywhere else with PIN. Is this the same error you are seeing?

          I did not find a solution. Tried setting countries to “worldwide” and tried resetting my PIN.

          Used another card at the hotel with PIN without issue 🤷‍♂️

            Hi Steven, thank you! Sorry you had a similar issue. For me it is not working at all, with or without the pin. It’s a maestro card and not MasterCard so probably that may be why.

              @Samzoiets#101077 Thank you, Sam, I should have researched better before going away that i needed the MasterCard. I will let you know if any errors once i request the new card upon my return- i guess here i can’t receive the card if i request it, no?

                      @Ioana-Golden-Bear#101211 He's got a point there: order a Mastercard and use it direct in Apple Pay (when supported in your home country).

                      Or use it direct in Tap&Pay on Android if you have one of those...
