  • bunq Premium for Family

With the announcement of bunq Premium the costs of bunqing has increased a lot (regardless if there is any value to justify these costs, but that's another discussion) if you have a family or household that were also using bunq and need more than the very limited bunq Free.

Wouldn't it be great if the whole family can really bunq together without spending a fortune?

If me and my partner are both bunq Premium Members, we will be spending €16,- per month on bunq (she refuses so far, and rightfully so). People are starting to call us crazy. Add one or more kids (regardless of age...) and it quickly adds up...

Services like Spotify have Spotify Premium for Family, for +50% of a single Premium membership, so €12,- for bunq Premium for Family would make sense...

So, any votes for bunq Premium for Family?

    A plus one from me,

my girlfriend is thinking about switching but isn’t to fond of the increased price. This could be a good solution for couples an families.

Maar dan met de voorwaarden dat je samen woont. Of getrouwd bent, of zo al ik een samenleving contract hebt.

        Hi Roderick,

Thanks for the tip! We'll put it on the wishlist :). For the immediate term: you could get them a bunq Free account, then connect their or your bank accounts and give them one of your cards :).

        We'll keep you updated!

Ali, yes, that's what I'm planning to do myself for the time being. However, instead of having customers resort to this sort of trick, which don't generate you any additional fees, either... why not just come down with the pricing for premium accounts where at the right price point I'd probably have one for myself and one for each of the children. Or, indeed, offer a family subscription.

The current situation, where it's €7.99 per person and people just avoid going Premium altogether can't really be in your interest any more than it is in customers'.

            Hello Ali,

That is a temporary solution! My girlfriend and kids like their own names on their cards not mine!

It is also important that we could share the cards, and that the persons with the free account could see the cvc code! Also I think that a family account should be an en/of account, in that way it is easier for people that are not married.

And one important thing, it should be possible to give your kids limitations. When you give them a free account they never should have the option to upgrade to premium by themselves!

We hope there will be a solution soon so we can go premium, keep up the good work and nice to see the good comments you are posting yesterday and today!

Yes yes, very much, please make this. I have FIVE daughters... Would rock the world 😂

Prolem is that their account will then be in your name.

                2 kids mean:

                1x Bunq Premium €7,99 (1 maestro)

3x €2,00 for extra maestro cards (2 kids, 1 wife)(connect 3 of your accounts to their basic free account)

€13,99 for basic banking, app only.

Same thing here. My husband and I would love to have one subscription shared, so we can e.g. both order one of the MasterCards - we don't need two each.

Yesterday my brothers and his wife wanted to switch to Bunq. They ordered one Bunq premium and one bankcard on my brothers name. They also wanted to order a second bankcard on his wife's name. That was not possible. They could only order a second card on my brother's name. They didnt like that so they canceled.

Is there actually a bank where you can open and can have different names on your bank accounts whilst only one person is registered at the bank, as your brothers and sisters are apparently trying at Bunq?

(annoying how an account refers to a balance in a 'digital jar', while account also refers as your account with the bank, I.e. bunq premium).

Any account can have a nickname, but there'll always be the name of the registered person during a transaction.

The only possibility with physical cards is the description box, where you can put her or his name. But the registers name will be at the card holders name..

Got to say, would be a nice functionality to have different names within a single bank subscription.

Theoretically you could order 5 cards and put their names in the description box (even though your name will be of the card holder) and set up Connect with their Bunq free account. This way all of them should have the functionality of having Bunq, physical as well as online payments and an app to keep track of it all. But it is still not theirs.

Depending on their age, pre-12 wouldn't be a problem for this. Perhaps if they are older they want to be less relying..

I have replied to a similar post that 14,99 would be acceptable if you can have 4 accounts with a total of 4 mastercards and 4 debitcards and 25 iban’s for cross use.

If you can do this "trick" it seem like only an administrative/coding problem (changing the name on an iban) to make it more formal and more usable. The ibans can even be deduced from the allotted amount of the primary premium account or something. But hey, I'm betting it's coming, Bunq likes to surpise us.
