  • Maestro and Mastercard in 1 card

Is it possible to have one card for the two payment gateways? So i only have to carry one with me? Is it already possible? Or might this be a future feature?

    It is possible, Fidor Germany (fintech) does it. They call it smartcard: Front is Mastercard, Back is Maestro.

    But it has a big disadvantage, you alway had to select which card you would like to use.

    Every terminal asks first: Please select: Mastercard or Maestro?

    I like the "one card, one job" idea better. It's faster on POS

        As far as I know the combined mastercard and maestro card is an exclusive product contract between mastercard and fidor

          Another bank used to have this as well, Banca Monte Paschi Belgio. They have since then phased out this combined product.

          In Netherlands either ICS/ABN or ING also has a combined v-pay/VISA card which is pretty much the same but on a different card scheme.
