• Enable Screen protection also after double-tapping home button on iOS

When the bunq app is in the foreground, double-tap the home button to open the "Recent Apps" view. The content of the bunq app is still fully visible which is something I would prefer to be changed.
The "rainbow screen" should be placed over it as soon as it is no longer the frontmost app.
Opinions?

@Roeshimi#106280 That's simply not possible on iOS. The app doesn't know it's in the "Recent Apps" screen, until you move completely away from the app: it's still the front most app when you double tap the home button.

@Andreas#106283 Well I have other banking apps that beg to differ 😉 As soon as they lose focus/are no longer the front most app, they protect the screen

@Roeshimi#106290 Can you give me an example of such an app? None of the other banking apps I have here do that.

I'm also wondering what the benefit would be of this: switching to the app switcher still keeps the app as a "foreground" app. The "rainbow"-screen will be placed as soon as you actually switch away from the app. Going into the app switcher doesn't actually switch away from the app.

@Andreas#106296 Yes the Sparkasse banking app for example.
The benefit would be that my data is protected immediately when the bunq app has no focus

@Roeshimi#106305 I'll check out the Sparkasse app. I have 6 banking apps on my phone here, which all show no cover when entering the menu itself, just when moving awya.

I want to re-iterate that the app hasn't lost focus when you only go to the switcher menu - it only loses focus when you switch away from it.

@Andreas#106296 German Sparkasse app does this. I assume their Starfinanz branded app behaves the same.

@Andreas#106311 Should I send you a video? Just made a quick screen recording

@Roeshimi#106313 Please do if it doesnt include any sensitive info :)

@Andreas#106317 Can I post a video here? Never tried...

@Roeshimi#106322 O think its possible thru the web version. You can also send it to support@bunq.com and mention its for “andreas”. Thanks!

@Andreas#106325 Mail sent just now :)

@mustibremen#106326 Judging by your screenshot, that's Android? Not iOS.

@Roeshimi#106329 Thanks - waiting until I get it forewarded (it's a bit busier than usual now). One additional question: does sparkasse use push messages?

@Andreas#106380 Not that I’m aware of. They have registered to be able to send notifications but I did not receive one. I guess there’s a feature where you could have push but I’m not using that

on ios this just works as expected

@Andreas#106380 Ja, die Sparkasse verwendest Push-Nachrichten. Für den “Kontowecker” oder auch für App-TAN.

@Roeshimi#106382 I think that's the difference. What's happens is that Sparkasse shows a coverscreen when the app becomes "inactive", not when it is backgrounded/loses focus.

Moving the app switcher makes an app "inactive", but it's still "foregrounded". When you move away from an app, it's backgrounded and loses focus.

Unfortunately, several other things make the app "inactive", including incoming push messages and dragging control center. We don't want to cover up the app when an unrelated push message comes in, so there's not much we can do here.
