Hello. Today I was at a Shell petrol station. In germany you can withdraw cash there (you can don‘t have to buy anything). Their partner is Postbank, so thats why you pay around 4€ if you use girocard. For Maestro/V Pay/Mastercard/Visa you pay what your bank is charging you.
It is technically an ATM withdrawal, not a counter withdrawal.
Well, I said to the cashier „I want to withdraw 30€“. The cashier gave me the terminal. NFC was disabled.
I put in my bunq Maestro and entered the pin:
Then I pressed the green OK button. The terminal said „Cash withdrawal not possible. Please contact your bank“.
Why? I have successfully withdrawn money with my Fidor card (Mastercard/Maestro). Why doesn‘t it like my bunq card? There was also no message in the bunq app.
Notice how it says „electronic cash“ in the top left corner. Normally there should be the card brand (Maestro in this case). electronic cash is the predecessor of the german girocard.
