• Top up was canceled

Hi! I have problems with topping up my bunq card. I was trying to do it with two different debit cards and both times I got back short info saying "the top up was canceled by your other bank". How is it possible? I used two different cards, one master card (Revolut) and one Visa and none of them work.

    You can't top up your card, you have to use the account that is linked to your bunq card.

    By the way: what kind of card exactly?

    The cards you top up from have a positive (credit) balance to use them?

    In addition: this seems to be a private matter and you should in this case contact bunq's support staff.

      I have same issue this month with cards of two different Russian banks (in July they both worked fine, both issued on my name). Support said that it's issue with their contractor for processing card payments. It seems like I will miss my "free 500 euro top up" feature this month :(

        For me it worked fine yesterday. I added 3 cards for topping up, but then app says I can't add more than these although 5 should be possible.

          @Heiko-Hartwig#112219 Bunq support, of cause. The problem is that it's not on the other bank side - error message pop ups immediately even before 3d secure page shows to confirm transaction.

            Ah Ok, this is strange. "Verified by VISA"-feature (VbV) was not used yesterday, but last month it was. Maybe there is something wrong ... at the moment.

            Update: today it works again as usual with VbV.

                Topping up with credit card is your best way?

                  @Heiko-Hartwig#112225 Yes, that's the best possible option, because there is no fee. Otherwise I can use 3rd party services like Paysend to IBAN, but it's not urgent - I can wait till the end of the month and if nothing changes, use alternative.

                      I had the same problem with my ics Visa card last week. Now it’s working again.

                        Can we be some kind of official statement here from bunq? Top up by card is unstable, we need to resolve this issue, or it falls under false advertisement.

                          Official statements won't be placed here. If you wish to have an update on any problems, if there are any problems from bunq's side, then please contact the private support chat.

                            @Tim#112427 I mean, if you read this link https://together.bunq.com/d/13577-top-up-your-account-with-a-credit-or-debit-card any Visa or MasterCard are allowed to top up the account, no *) or other restrictions.

                            To be honest, this feature was one of the triggers why I joined bunq to use it as "pocket money" bank in Netherlands. There is a problem and it has to be solved. I'm glad that we can discuss it in public, so other people can read and be prepared for that.

                                @Marco-vr#112525 That's a possibility yes. Sometimes credit card companies block certain type of payments, the transaction type used for topping up your bunq account could be one of them.

                                  It is not the fault of the credit card company. If have tried a few cards that work very nice with other companies and they do not work with Bunq.

                                    ... and even Bunq's support acknoledged, when I contacted them, a week ago, that it is an issue because of their security system, that I've been cought in some sort of "antifraud net ..."

                                      I just try the feature which allow you top up money from your credit cards. It works at the first time and it does have the issue if you want use it for a second time top up, it will show “your top up is canceled by you other bank”.

                                      The solution I found is to delete the card information saved with bunq and do it again, manually enter the information. The issue is solved.👏🏻
