• Promo to Travel Card subscription

Hi, my son has a Promo subscription which has a 250 euro per month limit. Now he ordered the Travel Card and received it. Now I want to remove the 250 limit and am thinking to switch to Travel Card subscription. Can someone tell me what will I loose? Does the Travel Card subscription include an IBAN account so I can send money there? If not is the only option to put money in using request payment? Or is there another way as well?

    @Luis-Dragon#115901 Ok so there is an IBAN I can send payments to periodically like setting up automatic payments from my ABN AMRO account for example?

      @LeibyKandyba#115906 Yes there should be.

        @LeibyKandyba#115906 With the travel card subscription you will get an IBAN where you can top up your card, you can also do this automatically from another bank account. However the subscription doesn't include a bank account at bunq, so you can't make transfers yourself (and no iDeal etc.). The only way to pay with a Travel Card subscription is to use the Travel Card itself.

        Of course if you get a Travel Card inside of a Premium subscription, this limitation doesn't exist ;)

          @LeibyKandyba#115906 Yes, there is an IBAN attached to a Travel Card membership, but it can only be used to receive money.
          Sending money (via SEPA transfer) and paying direct debits is not possible for Travel Card members.

          Your IBAN is visible when you tap on "Add Money" and then "Bank Transfer".
          The IBAN is also visible on the export statements.

            @Bastiaan#115927 Great info thank you. One more question: when I switch from my Promo to Travel Card subscription, what is the experience like? I have now one maestro one debit and one Travel Card attached. Do I get to keep the existing travel card or do I need to order a new one? What happens to the maestro and debit card? Do these get canceled? Do I simply destroy them? And what if I have money on my balance?

              @LeibyKandyba#115935 Do I get to keep the existing travel card or do I need to order a new one?

              You can keep your existing Travelcard.

              @LeibyKandyba#115935 What happens to the maestro and debit card?

              They get deactivated until you upgrade to a Premium plan (you can not go back to the Promo plan!)

              @LeibyKandyba#115935 And what if I have money on my balance?

              You will need to close your accounts, part of that process is moving any remaining money to another IBAN. πŸ™‚

                @Sander#115938 Perfect! Thank you for all the help!

                  @LeibyKandyba#115939 Is the daily ATM limit of 500 euro standard for all cards? And can’t be increased?

                    @LeibyKandyba#115968 that's correct. That's because bunq doesn't have its own ATM's. You can withdraw a maximum of €500,- per day per card. With three cards that is 3x €500,- = €1.500,- per day. You can not increase this limit, only lower it. πŸ™‚

                      @Sander#115969 Thank you Sander, you have been extremely helpful

                        Sander how do I switch from Bunq Promo to Travel Card?

                          @Bentsion-Maroon-Starfish#115984 Done it via support!

                            @Bentsion-Maroon-Starfish#115984 Via Profile -> My membership -> Upgrade membership. But maybe you first have to upgrade to Premium and then directly downgrade to the Travel Card membership, I'm not sure about that πŸ€”
