• Using OCR for groceries

Using OCR to match receipts to transactions is fantastic.

A common friction point we have okay home is groceries. Both my wife and I have a BUNQ card to our shared account. And because we both buy different things at different times it’s hard to predict what we’re running out of and what we tend to buy a lot of. Groceries btw is easily 80% of what goes through that account.

Would it be possible to take a picture of our receipts with our bunq app (which will always be with us in the store - go Apple Pay!) and have BUNQ categories the spend by the line item within the receipt? And make it exportable. No other bank is using OCR and it would make budgeting AND evaluating what to buy online (high volume goods) easier AND it would enable us to track the price point of line items to see if the supermarkets are increasing/decreasing the prices.

That would be so majorly helpful.

    Typos. Sorry, on my phone.

@Sander#119744 Thanks - this is exactly it -> but could we take it one step further by categorizing and totaling line items (Eg. Pasta) over multiple transactions. I know I’d love to evaluate how much “heinkein” I’ve brought over the last month from multiple trips to AH.
