• FX Rate comparison USD/EUR for Bunq, DKB and N26

Dear all,

I compared the FX rates of my bank accounts while traveling the US.
I made three different purchases and paid with three different cards in the same store at the same time. I got the best rate with Bunq (Travel card), followed by DKB and then N26.
There is not a huge difference but it might be interesting for some of you travelers.

@Julian-Olive-Lynx#122744 Thanks for testing. This is interesting, because N26 uses the official mastercard* FX from 9.9.19 (1 USD = 0.907729 EUR) and bunq seems to use a rate, that is nearly that from 10.9.19 (1 USD = 0.906492 EUR) but a little bit better...??

DKB uses the official VISA Exchange rate (10.9.19):

@Julian-Olive-Lynx#122744 bunq doesn‘t display the actual exchange rate but the ratio between the USD and the EUR amount (1,45/1,6=0,90625). The Mastercard exchange rate of both the 9th and the 10th of September result in this calculated exchange rate.

@Philip-Purple-Kiwi#122753 You are right, the inaccuracy (in bunqs displayed rate) results from the small amount. And the difference between bunq and N26 is based on the different days of the final booking (N26 9.9. & bunq 10.9.)

@Julian-Olive-Lynx#122744 I applaud your efforts, and very cool presentation! 👍😃
However, my gut tells me that at these amounts, the „exchange rate“ you have calculated is maybe not so meaningful.
