• Anyone who has received a Travel Card recently (within the last 4 weeks)?

Has anyone received his/her Travel Card in recent weeks and can say if bunq has changed the build quality of the Travel Card? I know that they have changed the way they produce the regular Debit MasterCard and I wonder if this is also the case with the Travel Card now.

    @Roeshimi#126995 very interesting question. let's gather the vote's to make this into attention for bunq users, maybe someone will reply with an image/photo of the travel card if indeed they have changed them like the debit card.

      I just got a new one (05.08.2019) when there was the famous issue with the BIN. I guess this is not "recent", right?

        @Heiko-Hartwig#127042 I’ve received on during that time too. I had hoped there are users who have received their cards later.

          @Roeshimi#126995 I have received it just a couple of weeks ago. The build quality looks good, should I look to something specific?

            @marcozima#127086 Does it have a clear coating on the front and/or back? Is it easily scratched?

              @Roeshimi#127087 I have mine for a couple of months now and it’s got quite a lot of scratches already. Doesn’t look as slick as it used to.

                I have received travel card 3-4 weeks ago. Yes, it is easily scratched.

                  @Gabi-Violet-Bear#127139 That's a bummer. Thank you

                    @Roeshimi#127087 Does is scratch easily? Hmm yes it does, but hey... your card is not a museum piece but a utensil to make payments. And now with Apple Pay and Google Pay available you can leave the card at home or at least untouched in your wallet most of the time. The more scratches the bigger spender you are! Look at my TravelCard now in my wallet.. 😉

                      @MarJamJars#127189 the thing is, I like how the new debit cards feel and I had hoped, bunq would have listened to the user reports about the card's quality.
                      Sure my card will be in my Secrid wallet most of the time, but there are situations where I need to stick it (ATM for example) and it "hurts" everytime I do that ;)

                        12 days later

                        @Roeshimi#127087 I have to confirm that it scratched visibly after a short time together with other cards in a wallet... basically I’ve never used the physical card, using 90% with Pay so the quality could be improved for sure! However, most cards lose their coating or scratch fairly quickly, so I don’t think bunq’s is worse while it’s not better either.

                          It damaged large chunks of its coating here in a matter of days just being in the wallet. Quite the bad investment tbh, the debit card was much more robust. The shiny layer on the travelcard damages so fast the nice look factor diminished to bad to look at very quickly.
