Is there a real difference or not? Why would you have both? Pros and cons? I am thinking of suspending my regular MasterCard...

@StijnC#128119 Hi đđŒ Stijn,
Well, thatâs a good question. In my opinion the Travel Card đł only has pros if you compare it to the regular Mastercard. Because the Travel Card acts as a real credit card for the outside world đ, is has a far better acceptance rate then the regulars Mastercard.
So, I would also go for the Travel Card!
@StijnC#128119 do keep in mind that even though the Travel Card acts as any other regular credit card, its transactions will be deducted straight away (like with a debit card). so always make sure that you have enough money on there when e.g. a car rental company or hotel reservation requires a deposit.
@Ilan#128127 Thatâs correct, but then the regular card acts the same. You always need to have enough money on your account. And the dual pin is also a benefit.
@StijnC#128128 true that. I myself do have another MasterCard from ICS that offers me purchase insurance for 180 days (something bunq doesnât offer to my knowledge) and with that I pay my expenses at the end of the month, which can come in handy as well.
Iâd go for Travel, you have multiple online mastercards which are equal to the debit card anyway.
Tbh, Iâm not sure why bunq still offers the normal debit card lol.
@LH-Black-Wolf#128130 Yes correct, Iâll freeze my regular MC. ;-)
@LH-Black-Wolf#128130 indeed. There's no real reason for bunq to keep offering the debit mastercard... Personally I don't think they will keep it as it only results in confusion
@Daniel-Aquamarine-Shark-3429682832#128153 Yes, but in that case an Online mastercard (of which you can create 5 of in total as Premium member) is the way to go for such payments. It doesn't have to be a physical card in my opinion.
@TwitNour#128159 Most terminals require a physical card. How would an online card help?
@pbruins84#128161 You donât need a physical card for TransferWise right? Iâve never used it myself though. And as for the costs for the merchant, I donât think people âcareâ too much because they donât really have to pay for these costs, especially not since PSD2.
@TwitNour#128162 Transferwise was just an example of Daniel. I've read multiple stories on together of physical stores in Germany which only accepted debit cards, because of the higher transaction fees of credit cards.
@pbruins84#128163 German stores donât make a difference between Mastercard Credit and Debit Mastercard. If they donât accept credit cards, they only accept Girocard and maybe Maestro and V Pay.
I can confirm in Germany there are stores that will only accept debit cards (even if the terminal technically accepts credit). But in this case, the Maestro should also work... so maybe there's really no reason to keep the MC Debit.
What about the 0.99euro fee for withdraw with Travel Card vs the 10 free withdraws with normal card?
Or, in the Personal membership, the 10 free withdraws are extended to the Travel Cards as well?
@Michele-Magenta-Shark#129545 Wenn Sie Premium oder busines User sind zĂ€hlen die 10 freien Abhebungen auch fĂŒr die Travel Card
