  • Apple Pay with the virtual cards

Would be super cool to have this and puts a lot of control over security with the customers.

If for some reason the physical card gets phished we have to deactivate them from Apple Pay, reorder and receive the new card and link again, but with virtual ones, a new one can be created and linked to Apple Pay quickly

    De virtuele kaart kan al handmatig worden toegevoegd aan Apple Pay. Via wallet > + rechtsbovenin > voeg andere kaart toe (dus niet via bunq) > voer kaartinfo handmatig in. Rest spreekt voor zich.

      Hi 👋 @bsaurabh#129077

      The online cards aren't officially supported for Apple Pay even though some people may be able to add them to the Wallet.

      Great thing is that when you order a new physical card you can activate and add them to your Wallet already even before they have arrived.

        @Tim#129079 Und die physikalische bleibt weiter inaktiv?

          @Heiko-Hartwig#129106 Nope is active... So when someone snags your card from the mail they can use the wireless payment function (limited to 25€ I think).

            @StijnC#129107 what are you saying? I have at least 3 inactive cards that I use with Apple Pay. I haven’t even set a PIN. How exactly would someone be able to use contactless if 1. I’ve never inserted the card anywhere 2. the card has no PIN and 3. the card has never been activated?

              @Heiko-Hartwig#129106 that is correct. if you order a new card and never select a PIN you will still be able to use it in Wallet and online

                @00#129111 Das wäre mir ein Test wert, auch wenn ich dafür jetzt mal 10€ für die Karte bezahlen müsste.

                  Thanks for the tip on how to activate a virtual card with ApplePay. It worked for me.

                    @Heiko-Hartwig#129113 it’s still €9,-

                    only the travel card subscription is 10, I think

                    It works as it should. When you click card details, you’ll be able to change the linked account and change the CVC etc. and manage Apple Pay.

                      No, the card is in someway 'activated' (only from the app side) but the contactless feature is only activated after an online chip + PIN payment. And for online chip/magnetstripe payments of course a PIN code will be necessary. Same for offline payments, which wouldn't work because the PIN isn't written on the chip yet through an online transaction. So pretty safe I would say.

                      Edit: With online in this comment I mean a terminal or atm that is connected to the internet. Not a purchase on the web :)

                        Ok that is good news then, wasn’t expecting that!

                          @bsaurabh#129077 You can actually also add the Tap & Pay card to Apple Pay. :) It’s a free virtual maestro for Android Tap & Pay, but it works with Apple Pay as well. You can get it by logging in on an Android phone with NFC and activate Tap & Pay.

                            @JeroenKemker#129078 Geweldig! Dankjewel je Jeroen!

                              When I add the online card manually as @JeroenKemker suggests then the card has to be Verified. I have two options:
                              1. bunq app
                              2. Call bunq (this is no option since you get an answering machine telling you that you cannot call them)

                              When I use the bunq app option the app opens but nothin happens. Any ideas how I can verify my card?

                              I have opened a new account and try to set it up without a physical card (only an online card connected with Apple Pay).

                                @Green-Marketers-Green-Bear#141131 Probeer punt 2. Je belt niet bunq maar je krijgt op jouw telefoon een verificatiecode via sms. Moet lukken!

                                  @Green-Marketers-Green-Bear#141131 Ich habe soeben eine Onlinekarte zu applepay hinzugefügt. Bei der Überprüfung gab es zwei Optionen: bunqapp oder sms. Ich habe sms gewählt und habe den Code auf meiner Telefonnummer erhalten, die unter Profil in der bunq-App gespeichert ist.

                                    @JeroenKemker#141132 optie 2 heb ik geprobeerd maar dan krijg ik het automatische antwoordapparaat. Ik krijg optie 2 ook alleen maar direct na het toevoegen van de kaart. Als ik nu opnieuw in mijn wallet kijk dan staat er alleen nog maar optie 1.
