• Direct payment to Amazon blocked

Following problem: a while ago, when my Bunq account was rather low, an Amazon payment did not go through, and I had to use a different account to complete my order. Now I have topped up Bunq, but Amazon apparently does not receive a status update or whatever - any time I try to use the direct payment option from by bunq account, the order returns an error. Funny enough, everything works just fine when I use a bunq card number - which goes back to the same account. Amazon support says ' talk to your bank, not our problem'.
Any suggestions?

If they don‘t allow you to proceed with a certain account then that‘d be indeed a problem (or it‘s probably intentional) with their system. A good alternative is also just using iDeal, also works on German bank account Amazon (sorry made a mistake here). And with a direct debit you normally have 5 days to top up your account before it has to be paid so that would‘ve been better in your situation probably. Then Amazon‘s system would‘ve been none the wiser.

      Direct debit works every time for me with amazon. Even if I don’t have the particular account covered. I love the fact that bunq has the pending debit feature which lasts five days. AWESOME feature.

        @frankiethehun#130003 When you top up your bunq account AFTER a direct debit request came in you still have to accept it manually, Amazon is not "connected" to your bank account and knows how much you have on it.
        If you exceeded the limit and the direct debit got cancelled, Amazon's security systems will probably deny Direct Debits for your account for a while as a security measure, because there is no "connection", there is always a risk for the merchant as he can't know immediately if you have the money or not.
        You can use your bunq card instead (there is not really a disadvantage in that, the Amazon Customer Service is good enough to trust them), or iDEAL.
