The more I think about it, the worse the idea of this metal card gets to me.

1. bunq makes ‘going green’ a privilege for people that pay 99 euro a year, instead of doing it by default.
2. In NL MasterCard is hardly used and therefore you maybe get a few trees planted for 99 euro a year?
3. Even if I do think about how much I spend on my card, it’s probably not more than 100-200 a week. That equals 1-2 trees a week so 50-100 trees a year. For 99 euro I could have supported initiatives that plant more trees.

A much better way was to add it as an additional card for a small monthly fee, or simply enabling the planting trees for everyone by default. The argument ‘bunq never wanted a metal card’ shouldn’t be used, as bunq simply shouldn’t release it then.

Concluding: there’s a bit of disappointment when something ‘great’ is announced that hopefully is a nice Black Friday deal or a new feature that will actually put bunq in front of the competitors again, bunt unfortunately not...

I appreciate that Bunq listens to they're clients but I think they did a little mess up with this one. The card is just a little to expansive. Personally I would've liked customizable cards over this or just a full black card or silver. I mean the rainbow is nice and all but it's about time👀
