💡 Plant trees with Auto Save 🌳

My idea 💡
Wouldn't it be a nice addition for customers that own a Green Card if you could also plant trees with bunq's Auto Save feature? This way we can plant more trees! 👍🏻

But how? 🤔
bunq could add an option to the settings of a Savings account, like this example:

When you enable this option 10% (for example) of every (auto) saved amount will be set aside for the trees 🌳🌳
So when the Auto Save amount of a transaction is € 1, € 0.10 will be used to fund a tree.

When will a tree be planted?
Not sure about this one, maybe per €5 funded? Let me know what you think below 🙌🙂

Bastiaan I like the idea, but why just limit it to planting trees? Planting trees is a good and green thing to do, but it's not all. Why not extend this to more projects, maybe (similar to Freedom Of Choice) with some sort of list allowing you to choose projects, etc.
Maybe this could also get extended to Green Card purchases (or all card purchases if you have Premium + Green Card), for each 100€ a "cashback" goes into trees and other things, that you can choose.

Hey Bastiaan! Thanks for sharing this idea 💡 . This sounds pretty nice! This way you will be able to plant even more trees 🌲 on top of your Green Card 💳 trees.

One thing I would really like to be added too, is that you can set the percentage that’s set aside for this. In your example it’s set to 10%, but I can imagine that people would want to change this percentage to 1%, 5% or 20%... Maybe it’s a good idea to give the people the freedom to do this too!

Love your Auto Save For Trees 🌳 Idea 💡... A person (or dog for that matter) can never have too many trees 🌳. So let’s save up for some more trees, effortless!

Auto save for trees or exchanging your interest for trees are things I especially love to have since I can’t use my Mastercard much in physical stores 🏬 here in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.

But, I also think 💭 there is the risk of making the app too complex if tree 🌳 options will pop up everywhere in the app. So, maybe tree options should at least be centralized.

An other risk is that it can become unclear for users when GC options kind of get mixed up with features of the other memberships.

But anyway, bunq has briljant minds that can figures something out here ;)

I don’t see any reason why this option should only be available for bunqers who bought the green card? Funding trees may be a good cause if we are really concerned about supporting the environment. Wether the funds come from green card holders or just any bunqer who wants to join in. Be good for this world should not be an exclusive feature only.

MJam At this moment you can only fund trees if you own a Green Card, and this makes it even more exclusive for Green Card owners that also have a Premium, Joint, Business or Pack membership.

But you're right, funding trees is always a good cause 👍🏻
