• bunq Web access without the mobile app

Hoi, ik zag net al dat een topic is opgezet waar wordt gezegd dat de laatste update niet opent voor sommige gebruikers. Nu ben ik daar een van. Echter wordt aangegeven je kunt in ieder geval nog bunq web gebruiken, maar als ik naar bunq web ga moet ik de QR code scannen via de app om in te loggen? die dus niet meer opent.... Wat mis ik? Hoe gebruik ik nu Bunq Web zoals net werd aangegeven?

      Er is een 2e methode om in te loggen op bunq Web doormiddel van een verificatiecode die je ontvangt op je email.

      Klik simpelweg op 'Log in without the bunq app'.

        bunq Web kan inderdaad niet gebruikt worden voor iDEAL of andere QR betalingen. Een update is uitgerold via Google Play en we wachten op Google om deze te publiceren (dit kan helaas een aantal uur duren).

        Als workaround updaten we https://together.bunq.com/d/23920-update-fixing-android-bug-app-not-opening met een versie van de app om handmatig te installeren voor spoedgevallen. Deze zal het mogelijk maken de QR betalingen en andere acties uit te voeren.

          Oh wat dom. ja heb niet echt opgelet. Maar de update is dit voor de meesten niet werkend? ik krijg nu een flikkerend scherm van zwart naar wit en weer zwart .. Er is niet zoiets zoals " revert to previous update" ? of laatste versie. Dacht ik installeer de nieuwe update omdat er schijnbaar via apple pay kan worden geupload. Maar goed nu werkt niks meer.

            Een tijdelijke handmatige install is mogelijk vanaf de apk die we aan https://together.bunq.com/d/23920-update-fixing-android-bug-app-not-opening toegevoegd hebben.

            Helaas is een revert bij Google niet mogelijk, wat deze situaties erg lastig maakt. Uiteraard nemen we dit serieus en doen we er alles aan om te zorgen dat een probleem als dit niet nogmaals voor kan komen.

            Tot slot, Apple Pay is een feature die alleen op iOS devices gelanceerd kan worden, op Android zijn alle andere opties beschikbaar zoals top up met iDEAL en Credit Card.

              Oh ok bedankt. In ieder geval ik hoef geen betaling te doen vanavond. dus het heeft allemaal geen haast of noodzaak. Vroeg me het alleen af. maar ik heb compleet gemist dat er de knop was om ook in te loggen met email.

                @Daniel-Violet-Lion-3087807540#138698 Geld toevoegen met Apple Pay zal echter niet gaan op Android daar dit een functie is van Apple’s iOS en dus een iPhone of iPad vereist. Tevens is dit ook volledig ongerelateerd aan de Android app bug.

                  @Pain-blue-quokka#138699 Hey Peter! I truly believe you only meant it in a good way, but getting people to allow installs from unknown sources for an APK for a banking app outside the Play Store isn't really something a bank should do.
                  I get, that it's for emergencies only, but nasty people are constantly trying to trick people into installing apps from outside the play store, especially manipulated banking apps, and I think it doesn't help if the bank itself asks users to disable this security feature and get them to install the banking app from outside the play store.
                  It also might triggers fake websites claiming to fix issues with an external APK in the future, as bunq did in the past.
                  I don't believe this will happen today, you're probably not big enough (yet) that nasty people are checking together every 10 minutes, but who knows how big you are in a few years! :)

                  And I know it's for emergencies only, but bunq Web should really be enough, and the post (https://together.bunq.com/d/23920-update-fixing-android-bug-app-not-opening) doesn't really make it look like it's dangerous to do it (and doesn't even link the https version of the link).

                  PS: Google Pay Top Ups would be nice for Android! :) Paying with G Pay in Apps is even supported outside of G Pay Tap&Pay countries :)

                    Hi Johannes, thanks for sharing your feedback on this, I fully understand your concerns.

                    We have considered many alternatives before publishing a build to be installed manually. There are a few things (like paying with iDEAL on a web shop) that aren't possible through bunq Web. We're here to keep our users safe and offer them a product that makes their life easy, sharing a custom build is at this point our best option.

                    Furthermore we are actively implementing several fixes to ensure a similar problem will not occur in the future.

                      @Pain-blue-quokka#138705 Hm, but not be able to pay with - one - payment option for a few hours is, at least for me, not really an emergency situation that needs a fix after minutes, and Google is pretty fast with approving apps too.

                      But could you maybe add a note to the together post on how to enable this security feature again, or at least that you advice to do it? Because people might not know that this is actually a security feature they turned off there.
                      Oh, and maybe linking the https version of the download, because static. doesn't do any auto redirect :)

                        @johannes#138707 @Pain-blue-quokka#138705 I personally would never ask users to download and install an APK and bypass the security of the OS... a big no go area if you ask me especially from a bank. Even the url was plain http.

                        But anyway, if it is reallyyyyy necessary to do it this way, I would also strongly point users to the risks of doing this.

                            @Bastiaan#138738 Pretty fast, still questioning if it was necessary to release the APK for this short time :/ But now let's hope this won't happen again! :)

                              Yes its all working now. I am sure everyone survived the few hours.
