Now you can effortlessly spend without looking back. With our newest insurance with AXA and Mastercard, our Metal Card holders can now spend, plant trees and enjoy extended warranty and purchase protection when spending. 🛡🌳
This means that, in case something mistakenly happens with your Metal Card payment, you're covered! For a full list of situations you're insured for, you can check out our IPID and T&C here.
How does this work?
In case of an emergency, you can easily file an insurance claim via the bunq app. Your purchase will automatically be insured and we’ll help you get in touch with the insurer.
To see how to do this in the app, follow the steps below:
- Go to Me tab
- Select the desired account
- Select the payment you need help with
- Tap on + and go to Show more
- Select Need help with this payment?
- Make sure your situation is listed in view terms
- Tap on File an insurance claim
- Call the local number provided
Are there other requirements to receive insurance?
Although we would like all bunqers to be able to enjoy this feature, due to specific country regulations, the insurance is only available for Metal Card holders in select countries.
You must be resident in one of the following countries in order to get the coverage:
- The Netherlands
We want all of our bunqers to be able to use this in the future, so we’ll update this list and notify you if we add any new regions!
Are payments that I made before bunq Update 13 also insured?
We’re looking forward to providing you with ease of mind for your future payments. For legal reasons, we’re not able to insure payments made with your Metal Card before the 28th of January 2020. Anything after this date will be insured!
