Hey bunqers đ
With the deprecation of our Metal Credit Card, the additional Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty will also be discontinued starting November 1, 2024. However, this feature will still apply to eligible payments made on or before October 31, 2024. Remember, Purchase Protection lasts for 90 days from purchase, and Extended Warranty covers 12 months, starting 24 months from purchase. For more details, check the insurance Terms & Conditions or visit Companjonâs FAQ page.
How does this work?
In case of an emergency, you can easily file an insurance claim via the bunq app. To see how to do this in the app, follow the steps below:
- Go to đ Home tab
- Select the Bank Account you made the payment from
- Select the payment you need
- Tap on 'Purchase may be insured' under the payment details
- Press File a claim. You'll get redirected to the Companjon portal
- Continue with the steps provided in the portal and file a claim
If it's your first time going through the process, you'll have to sign up in Companjon's portal first. You'll receive an email to your bunq email address containing a link to set up your MyCompanjon account - simply click on the link to complete your account's setup. But don't worry, your insurance is valid even before signing up.
Are there other requirements to receive insurance?
Although we would like all bunqers to be able to enjoy this feature, due to specific regulations, the insurance is only available for Metal Credit Card holders with verified Personal accounts and Easy Bank Pro XL plan in all countries where we operate.
We want all of our bunqers to be able to use this in the future, so weâll update this list if we add any new groups!

Whatâs the difference between a chargeback and the Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty?
In-app chargebacks are applied in case of fraud or if your goods arenât delivered.
With the Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty you can get funds back even if the original insurance of the product youâve used has expired đ¸
For example, youâve bought a refrigerator with your Metal Credit Card. Itâs broken but its insurance has already expired. In this case, you can file a claim with Compajon and get some of the funds back.
