• Online requirement

Hello,

I've read that for the maestro card the terminal needs to be an online one, is this the same for the credit card??

Thanks

This counts for the Maestro card and the MasterCard

They both use the same network in this case. The bunq debit card 💳 doesn't contain any (prepaid) credit by it self so the terminal has to check the system to know your account status. Therefore the terminal has to be online.

Yeah.... I'm really wanting to have the offline feature... does anyone know if it's the same at N26??

Well that changes things timo, then I think N26 is for me a better choice, I've emailed them and told me that NFC for phone is coming soon too.

But I can assure you, if you ever need N26 customer support you are out of luck their support is the worst I have ever seen at a bank. And also many features don‘t work since months. Like direct debit push notifications. And I don‘t want to know what happens if their investors want their money back (they will probably raise their pricing) and that’s why I love bunq because bunq does not have investors they need to ansäest too. And the features just work.

I've had no issues so far with customer support, on weekdays they respond usually within a few hours to my emails and on the weekend usually a day later.... there's also live chat where it's instant, Ive not had issues myself with direct debit withdrawals having no push notifications.... see I travel alot, specially to south Korea.. and if the merchant or place I am happens to have only offline terminals... that's a problem, yea in Netherlands it's no problem cause most are internet connected but offline ones are in Netherlands too!

The pricing issue is the same with bunq ofcourse. The did raise their pricing too. Till now i didn't have any issues with N26. But i like and use bunq more :-)
