Looking forward to trying out the new bunq Watch App but have some questions about it works? Check out a list of some frequently asked questions below:
How do I download and install bunq for my Apple Watch app?
- Go to the App Store on your Apple Watch
- Search for “bunq”.
- Tap on the Get button on the top right.

How do I log in to my bunq account?
- Open the bunq app on your watch.
- You’ll receive a QR code. Scan this from the bunq app on your iPhone.
- Enter your login details and you’ll be ready to start using bunq from your wrist.
How to switch the Bank Account your card is linked to?
- Open the bunq Watch app.
- Go to the Cards screen by swiping to the right.
- Select the card you’d like to use.
- Tap on the current Bank Account linked to your card.
- From the list, select the new Bank Account you want to link to your card.
- Confirm your selection.
How do I view my CVC for an Online Card?
- Go to the Cards screen by swiping to the right.
- Tap on your Online Card from the available list.
How do I accept a payment request from the watch?
- The payment request will generate an instant notification on your watch.
- Tap on Accept to approve the payment request.
Note: If your payment request can’t be accepted from the Watch app (e.g. because of insufficient funds on the Bank Account), you’ll receive another notification asking you to open the bunq app on your iPhone and perform the action there.
How do I pay from the Apple Watch app?
- You can pay with your Apple Watch using Apple Pay! To use your default card, double-click the side button.
- Hold the face of your Apple Watch within a few centimeters of the contactless reader.
- Wait until you feel a gentle tap.
How do I add my bunq card to my Apple Watch Wallet?
- Make sure your watchOS version is up-to-date (5.3 or later).
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and go to the My Watch tab.
- Tap on Wallet & Apple Pay.
- Scroll down and select Add next to Apple Card.
- If you want to make this card your default payment card for Apple Pay, tap on Use as Default Card.
You can make your bunq card the default card on your Apple Watch! This way you can use it automatically whenever you want to make payments right from your wrist.
Troubleshooting
- I scanned the QR code with the iPhone bunq app to link my phone but I am getting an error ‘Unknown QR code`. What can I do to link my watch to my account?
Follow these easy and fast steps:
- Delete the bunq watch app from the watch (See how here)
- Reinstall the watch app from the watch App Store
- Load the bunq watch app
- Re-scan the QR code from your iPhone app
- The Bank Account balances on my watch don't match the balances on my iPhone app.
You can refresh the bunq watch app by force touch the account screen and tap the refresh bunq.
- I've ordered a new card from the iPhone app just now but it isn't showing on the bunq watch app?
