• Allow IND residence card as means of identification

Recently my husband moved from Albania to the Netherlands and has trouble opening an account as Albanian passports are not on the list. Even though there's a workaround, it would be great if bunq could start accepting the IND issued residency permit as a valid form of identification, I'm sure I'd save a lot of immigrants and expats from nonwestern countries quite some hassle!

Hi Vincent, our partner cannot accept the IND resident card because it doesn't contain all relevant information on a single side of the document. This means that it's not strict enough for this form of verification. They of course always work to support as many countries as possible but at the same time have to follow strict regulation...

But that’s the same for a dutch ID card. Not all information is on the same side.

The BSN is on the back of the card, where there is no photo ID or sufficient space to have the full name.

Pushing this request: I‘d also like to see that people with residence permits could easily get recognized. As bunq doesn’t allow negative account balances, there is low risk, and it would be a great thing to promote bunq to all my „highly skilled migrant“ friends that don‘t have a IBAN (and for whom I have to play bank) right now.

By the way: what is the workaround that you’re mentioning?
