  • Green Card subscription end date

Hi all!

I just received my Green Card and let me first say how amazingly beautiful it is! I'm super excited to finally have it 😍

Now, I was wondering when exactly I will be charged for the next year subscription, so I started searching the app for this info. But I couldn't find it anywhere... So, dear bunq, can you add this info somewhere so we all know what exactly we can expect?

Thanks! 🌈

    @Ambiebambi#147323 Isn’t it on the invoice?

      @Hemmik#147328
      The invoice was made in 11/2019 ... and subscription is different from that.

        @Heiko-Hartwig#147330 Below that it states something like:” bunq green card 02/2026 (27-11-2019 - 26-11-2020)”

          @Hemmik#147331 Das stimmt aber nicht, da das Abonnement erst beginnt, wenn man sie aktiviert hat😅

            @Jonas-VfR-Aalen-1921#147333 Dus de eerste Green Card vervalt 14 maanden na activatie?

              @Simon-Magenta-Zebra#147334 Wenn die da ist noch zwei extra Monate drauf ja😁

                @Hemmik#147328 Jup it states the date exactly one year after purchasing the card. But they said that the subscription would “start” when your card arrived, so the date on the invoice isn’t correct.

                  And they recently added the extra free 2 months for the shipping delay now, so in total we would expect the subscription to run until late April 2021. It would be nice to see this "in writing" somewhere, before you suddenly get charged €99 in e.g. November 2020 after all.

                    @vampjon#147347 I would bet money that this is going to happen. Can we please get an overview of the correct subscription period some time before November?

                      @vampjon#147347 Exactly my point. They promised, so I’d like to be able to actually see this somewhere in the app.

                        @TimothyAlexander#147332 I would guess that at that point, you get a free replacement card that is valid for another 6 years, the same as happens with other non-Green card types with 4 year validity. Don't forget that you are paying €99 every year for the Green Card subscription, so it seems obvious that the replacement physical card after its 6 year validity should be included in that subscription price. But we're getting into multiples of bunq's current lifetime as a company at this point, and who knows how much of a thing physical cards will still be in 2025 or 2031...

                          @Ambiebambi#147323 Hi 👋🏼 Founding Neighbour!

                          Good question! I was looking for that date too... especially since it will be more then a year this first period.

                          Also would be cool to get a push notification a week before that date.. so then I can make sure I have enough balance or time to unsubscribe.

                          Enjoy your weekend (and your ❤️ 🌳 💳 )

                            @JohnDo#147398 Yeah exactly! I received my card yesterday, so 14 months from now (a year + the extra 2 months due to delivery delay) would be april 2021. So I will be charged in april 2021? Will it be exactly 14 months, so april 20th 2021? Or wil it be the end/beginning of april? These are all little insecurities that I would love to get more details about 😊

                            I like your idea about the notification!

                              5 days later

                              Bump because I still have no info on this subject and I really want to have something in writing to make things clearer.
                              bunq = transparancy. Right? Let’s make it happen 😉😊

                                @Ambiebambi#148516 You are right and I desire to have this information too.

                                  @Ambiebambi#147323 Very good point Amber!

                                  I’m really enjoying my green card and have no intention of cancelling it, but now you’ve mentioned it I cannot find anything about the end date or even on how to cancel the green card.

                                  I think bunq should make the green card a bit clearer. It’s now both a subscription on its own as well as something you can add on to a premium subscription, which is then never shown anywhere.

                                  Either, bunq should simplify the subscription tiers or make the whole subscription model more modular (which it kinda is now), but with a clearer way to creating and modifying your ‘modular package’.

                                    @R#148831 Helemaal mee eens. Ik wil hem ook niet cancellen hoor, maar wil wel graag weten wanneer het verlengd wordt, zodat ik daar met budgetteren rekening mee kan houden 😉

                                    Verder gebruik ik de kaart ook op heel veel plekken en vooral online. Maar hopelijk gaat Nederland haar acceptatie voor mastercard nog verder uitbreiden. Zou mooi zijn.

                                      @Ambiebambi#148834 Yes, of met het oog daarop zou (wellicht een meer realistische optie) het een tof idee zijn als de green subscription maestro kaarten ook zou laten bijdragen aan het planten van bomen. Zelfs als dit in mindere mate bijdraagt.
