Regain access to your account

Reset Security Code

If you can’t login on your bunq account anymore, the first thing to do is to reset your Security Code by following these steps:

Go to 👤 Profile
Go to ⚙️ Settings
Tap on Security
Select Change Security Code
Type in your current Security Code
Choose your new Security Code and confirm it.

After changing your Security Code, all other active sessions will end. That means that all devices that were logged in are automatically logged out. Any new device attempting to log in will be required to undergo an identity verification.

What if I can’t reset my Security Code?

If you somehow can’t recover the access to your account by resetting your Security Code, don’t hesitate to reach our SOS Support at +31208083666. Using this automated flow, you’ll be able to temporarily block your card and bunq account within 1 minute. This will keep your account and funds safe until you regain access.

Once we've confirmed the security of your account, we'll assist you with the necessary steps to unfreeze them.

Report your hacked account

If you suspect your account was hacked, please report the case by filling this form. After receiving your report, we will contact you within 2 days to discuss next steps.

Note: If you don't receive a reply to your report in 2 business days, please make sure to contact us through support@bunq.com by using the same email address that you used to register at bunq and share all the details you have concerning the case.

Getting access

After resetting your Security Code, you will have to verify your identity for every login on a new device. After successful verification, you'll be able to use your bunq account on the new device.

To do that, follow the steps below:

Reinstall the bunq app (Apple or Android)
Open the bunq app and tap on Already a member? Login!
Enter your email address as your login credential
Then Tap on Security Code to reset your Security Code 👌

How can I secure my account again?

To make your bunq account fully secured again, please follow these steps:

Go to your account’s Settings, select Security and tap on Devices. From there, delete any device that you do not recognise.
Go to Profile and tap on your name. From there, delete any phone number or email address that you do not recognise. This will ensure that only you have access to your bunq account.
