  • Joint Memberships moving forward

There’s been a lot of confusion around Joint Memberships today. We’d love to clarify what’s going on 🙌.

First we'd like to let you know that Joint Memberships in their old form were broken. They were a huge source of Together questions and support tickets, had all sorts of corner cases, and didn’t work as well as we’d like you to experience. Some examples are the continuous confusion between Joint Accounts and Joint Memberships, the 4 card limit confusion and so many other things.

So we decided to rebuild them for you. We looked for all the possible ways to do this, and came to the conclusion that it was impossible to achieve a better experience without resetting Joint. And to effectively start from scratch.

To make sure this process went as smooth as possible for you we cut the process into 2 steps. First: we give all joint membership users an upgrade to Premium without having to pay anything extra. This includes all the benefits of Premium over joint (more sub-accounts, more cards, more MassInterest, more everything!).

Then, going forward there will be 2 options:

  • The new Joint which we will announce within the next 2 months, with a significantly better experience than now;
  • Or, alternatively you can simply choose Pack. Pack allows you to have 4 Premium memberships for just €19.99 a month. The exact same price as Joint, whilst offering you more! You can choose a Pack, today, if you like.

    Wäre es nicht viel sinnvoller gewesen, erst das neue Produkt vorzustellen bevor man das alte einfach kündigt und den Kunden eine Preiserhöhung aufdrückt?

      Mijn vriendin en ik hadden een joint account. Super was een echte bunq fan. Weer een prijsverhoging zou voor mij vertrek betekenen. Dan wegen de kosten voor mij niet meer op tegen de voordelen van bunq. Als het niet duidelijk voor de klant is wat een joint abonnement is dan wijzig je de naam of de omschrijving. Dan pleur je niet het hele abonnement weg. Jammer bunq......

        @bunq#154509 Danke! Könnt ihr nicht einfach das Pack für 2 für 9,99€ anbieten? Dann muss ich keine Fremden suchen, die mir mir ein Pack nutzen. Ich verstehe es einfach nicht. Oder passt es preislich an, 11,99€ für 2, 19,99€ für 4.

              @bunq#154509 Perhaps Bunq should already start sharing what the new joint is, including pricing. It could help to stop many customers leaving Bunq, if you are not already to late.

              If the "new joint" was already a planned product,

              • why did Bunq not communicate this earlier today?
              • why did Bunq not wait with all these changes till the new joint is ready to go live?

                Fijn dat “joint” terug komt. Dit miste we inderdaad in de andere berichten aan info.

                Wat hierboven wordt beschreven lijkt mij ook een goede oplossing. Een pakket wat voor jou en je partner is wat niet meteen 16 euro kost. (Iets van rond de 10 euro).

                  @Elliott-Golden-Quokka#154593 Weil wohl nicht geplant war Joint oder dergleichen zurückzubringen. So ein Aufruhr in einem Forum einer Bank hat es wohl noch nie gegeben. Und wird es wohl auch nicht mehr. Vertrauensbruch bei Geldangelegenheiten führen zwangsläufig zu einer Kündigung des Produktes. In diesem speziellen Fall wohl Massenkündigung.

                      Ahh... I thought your decision was because of a "poll" or because of green initiatives, now it is something else, they were "broken".. maybe if we continue complaining, you will say the truth, €€€€. If something is broken you repair it, you do not ask for more money on behalf of trees... C'mon you are not an environmental non-profit organization. Also, what about the other subscription? how is going to believe that you are not going to change in the future? so many questions. What happens with the Bank of Free? Free subscription is not profitable, so you take them out? This is seriously very unprofessional.

                      I was puzzled by the end of the message, "Love"? I do not get that point also. What do you expect us to say? "Ohhh, they put smiles, faces in their message, and finish with Love, all it is fine, let's pay more and eat all the fakes they are telling to us today". Sorry, but please be professional and accept your fault or at least be responsible for your decisions. Don't come with excuses and soft stuff, we are not kids and even kids can see you from far.

                      Bank of the Free --> Bank of the profitable green --> Bank of "making the things less complicated" (for themselves)

                          @Elliott-Golden-Quokka#154593 They are just playing with us, now there is another excuse for their change, what happen to the "80% of bunkers" wanting green... just manipulation. I will definitely start leaving bunq.

                            @Seppel#154583 Although we removed joint subscription your have upgraded to 2x premium for free for the next 3-months while we build the new version that means your are getting more cards, more interest, more accounts, more everything!

                              Maybe a pack subscription that costs 5 Euro per member and scales freely from 2 to X users would be the best thing. If you again release a Joint subscription, it'll complicate things again. But whatever you do, don't name the "new" Joint membership "Joint" ;-)

                                  We welcome our users feedbacks as much as we reflect on our own product to make it better, the survey, Together and the complaints were all things we took into account to change the joint subscription.

                                  We've listened to our users and it is still the case for the new Joint subscription, we would love to hear from you what you want to see in it!

Don't manipulate people, don't give fake excuses that later you change for another, do not treat us as kids with your faces :) when you are not being professional. Don't break your promises when you promise free account or black Friday accounts. Do you want me to continue? maybe I do it in your language, we are >:-/

                                        Bunq, dit is geen stijl van een dienstverlenend bedrijf. Ik wil graag weten wat er veranderd voor ons met een joint pack. Wanneer we daarvoor beide een premium account moeten kiezen en daardoor een prijsverhoging van 80% moet incasseren zou voor ons een vertrek betekenen. Wat hierboven in de comments al voorgesteld is, zou het jullie sieren om twee premium account voor hetzelfde huishouden aan te bieden voor dezelfde prijs als een joint nu.
