Hi bunq,
When will you introduces ripple in you features??
Hi bunq,
When will you introduces ripple in you features??
Hey Michel!
Thank you for that! We're constantly looking for improvement, and we will have a look at that option 🕵
Thanks again for your suggestion and have a happy Sunday! 🌞
Hi, any updates regarding ripple integration? Maybe you guys can start a pilot project just like Moneygram? Just a thought.
What would you like to see to be done with Ripple?
Meh, keep crypto away from this platform ktnx?!
Maybe the topic starter (or anyone else that’s interested) could actually go more in depth about the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of his request?
Without more information I’ll have to assume that the topic starter wants bunq to start some sort of exchange service(?). Without going in depth about my views on the future of ledger technology, if bunq were to offer cryptocurrency exchange services it would most likely mean they would have to invest money in these, which to me seems quite risky.
Why would you want to integrate XRP? XRP is meant for banks to transfer money across borders, it isn't meant for consumers who want to buy products at a random store.
Dit is trouwens wel interessante info over Ripple: https://www.iex.nl/Bitcoin/274060/De-waarheid-achter-Ripple.aspx
Hi all. I am more interested in the technology, NOT the currency XRP. The Ripple Network is suppose to better, cheaper and much faster then SWIFT payments. Some say it might replace swift in the future. Many banks are already testing this new payment method.
So you want bunq to look into DLT rather than actual cryptocurrency?
Makes sense in the long run. I personally would rather that the ledger technology ages a little bit so the basic bugs are caught out.
I would love to see a ripple wallet to be integrated within the account overview :)
Maybe you guys didn't notice, but bunq already has an instant transfer option. That's because the ECB is implementing it's own blockchain and soon every EU bank will be using it. So Ripple would only be useful for transfers to countries outside the EU.
Ripple is actually not a blockchain, but a distributed ledger technology that relies on a different kind of consensus protocol (it doesn't really matter what it is for this discussion), Ripple is very reliable and robust for the user above commenting about bugs, it's way beyond that at this point and is being used to process hundreds of transactions per second. However, more pertinently it could make sense to integrate the Ripple protocol in that Bunq could become a gateway thereby being able to issue fiat IOUs on the network for the process of sending and receiving international transfers. However this isn't as simple as only participating in the Ripple protocol and would require exogenous legal agreements to work as desired. Also this is a higher level implementation detail that Bunqers need not worry about as they wouldn't interact with technology if it was implemented, the concern of Bunqers in this regard should pertain to the speed, cost, reliability etc of transactions and not their implementation details.

Perhaps Ripple would be useful at the back end? It's already being used by Santander and AmEx in the UK for interbank payments. Could be away to facilitate instant payments across borders?
@gregg bunq is currently using dlt to support instant payments ;)
Sounds like you're good...but what about payments between an IBAN in Netherlands and Germany? Takes at least one day... Or, US and Netherlands accounts etc etc.
When sending money to a German IBAN before 14.30 the other person will receive it the same day. Do it after and they will receive it the next day.
But what if it was instant line faster payments in the UK? The sepa zine should not have these lags... It's the 21st century
Ripple is a good crypto Pleas work withe them . 😇😇
