You can top up via various other methods, such as via card, iDeal, bank transfer, etc. Below you can read more about the available options to transfer money to your bunq account through the app and bunq Web. Keep reading to learn more about how to top up through each method.

How do I top up my account with iDEAL?

Go to 🏠 Home
Tap on 🟣 + Add
Tap on 🟣 + Add Money
Choose iDEAL
Select your amount
Tap Continue
An iDEAL page will open - select the bank that you want to top-up money from
Your other banking application will open - follow the steps there until you are being returned to the bunq app
And you're done 🎉

How do I top up my account with a Credit or Debit Card?

For euro accounts, we currently only support cards that originate from the EU. We're working on improving this coverage to allow cards from other countries to be used!

How do I top up my account with cash?

Barzahlen / Viacash

For bunqers residing in Germany and Austria

Since we don't have branches or ATMs, you'd need to use an external source to deposit cash to your bunq account. Luckily there are some companies that can help you do this (such as Barzahlen). See how you can use Barzahlen here.

The first €100 deposited each (billing) month is free, then there’s a 2,5% fee on the total amount above that. You'll be charged this in your monthly invoice.

PaySafeCash

For bunqers with Easy Bank Pro or Easy Bank Pro XL plans residing in Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

You can deposit up to €100,00 free of charge. After this limit has been passed, the deposit fee is 2.5%.

How do I top up my account with Bancontact? 🇧🇪

Our Belgian users are now able to reliably and instantly top up their account in a few seconds and get their requests paid via Bancontact. To do so, follow these steps:

Enter the amount you want to top up.
Confirm the amount
Choose if you want to use the Bancontact app or card to complete the transaction.

Note: You’ll be able to use Bancontact as a payment method if the transaction’s amount is higher than €5 and lower €10’000.

We recommend using the Payconiq+Bancontact app to complete the top-up flow. Besides that, we set an internal limit per top-up of €500. If you would like to add more money, you can! Simply start another one.

How do I top up my account with Apple Pay?

Select Apple Pay
Follow the flow and top up ✅

Keep in mind that adding money via Apple Pay is a card top up method. This means that every deposited amount with Apple Pay will count towards your card top up limit.

For example: If you top up your bunq account with €100 by using Apple Pay and €50 by using a regular card, both amounts (€150 in total) will count towards your daily card top up limit.

All top-ups, except cash deposits or IBAN transfers, should arrive instantly. You can check out the transfer times here.
Top-up methods can be different depending on your country of residence. For example, if you're located in the Netherlands, you'll see iDEAL, and if you're in Belgium, you'll see Bancontact.
