  • Withdrawals in own currency (Germany) not possible

Hi yes thats true, for a withdrawal with my N26 Mastercard I have to pay no fee. Unlike the withdrawal with the bunq MasterCard. So then every bank charges me a fee or are their banks which will not charge any?

    @Bjoern-Teal-Owl#27398 Out of curiosity: which Sparkasse does this ATM belong to?

      @Michael-Pink-Akita-339945225#27409 Hamburg

        @Bjoern-Teal-Owl#27405 From my experience in Germany, no bank charged me any fees for the mastercard. I have been to Volksbank, Sparkasse and Commerzbank. I am still not sure why the ATM you visited, charged you. You could check with the employees at that bank, maybe they are able to provide any insights. 🤔

          @JanBrodda#27415 I will try next time. Thank u so far!

            From my experience Sparkasse charges EUR 4.99 if you withdraw with the bunq Mastercard but is free if you use the bunq Maestro.

              I don't have much experience in using bunq yet, so I don't really know but: does it make a difference concerning fees if you use the maestro card instead of the mastercard to withdraw cash?
              If for example. the maestro card would cost money, did you maybe by accident use the maestro card to withdraw cash?
              A wild guess of course.

                Sparkasse is always expensive. They already get 2€ from bunq per cash withdrawal (bunq pays them some money) but they still can't get enough and wan't 5€ from the customer (so they get around 7€!!!). I'm so sick of Sparkasse! 🤢
                Just go to an other ATM like Volksbank, Deutsche Bank, Sparkasse, Reisebank, EuroNet... 🙂
                Or maybe try your maestro card.

                  @Michael-Pink-Akita-339945225#27422
                  At least Sparkasse makes a difference between bunq Maestro and Mastercard.

                    @Arcardy#27426
                    As far as I know banks are only allowed to charge the withdrawal fee from one side.
                    So either from bunq or from the customer.

                      @Stefan-Olive-Lynx#27420
                      Did the ATM at Sparkasse Hamburg really charge the fee? Or did you cancel the withdraw when you read the message?
                      Maybe the display shows a wrong charge for Mastercard 4,99 EUR? And it is only for Sparkasse customers not for bunqrs?
                      I never had ATM fees with my bunq Mastercard at Sparkasse Berlin, Volksbank, Euronet, Bankhaus Lenz and others

                        @Stefan-Olive-Lynx#27420 That’s true. I have the same experience. 👍🏻

                          I actually tried both, master and maestro. For both sparkasse charges 4 euro something

                            @SimonM#27444
                            Not Sparkasse Hamburg but Frankfurt.
                            I canceled when the fee was displayed. Didn't want to try it out.
                            Withdrawal with bunq Maestro at the same ATM was without fee.

                              Elise changed the title to Withdrawals in own currency (Germany) not possible.

                                @Bjoern-Teal-Owl#27449
                                Have they really charged it, or do they claim to charge this? Maybe the Display is wrong?
                                Maybe someone would try this out? In Berlin, Sparkasse does not charge for bunq MC and MAESTRO.

                                  @SimonM#27458 Hi, Sparkasse definitely charged me the money.
