@JanBrodda#27415 I will try next time. Thank u so far!
Withdrawals in own currency (Germany) not possible

From my experience Sparkasse charges EUR 4.99 if you withdraw with the bunq Mastercard but is free if you use the bunq Maestro.
RoeshimiWizard
I don't have much experience in using bunq yet, so I don't really know but: does it make a difference concerning fees if you use the maestro card instead of the mastercard to withdraw cash?
If for example. the maestro card would cost money, did you maybe by accident use the maestro card to withdraw cash?
A wild guess of course.
Sparkasse is always expensive. They already get 2€ from bunq per cash withdrawal (bunq pays them some money) but they still can't get enough and wan't 5€ from the customer (so they get around 7€!!!). I'm so sick of Sparkasse! 🤢
Just go to an other ATM like Volksbank, Deutsche Bank, Sparkasse, Reisebank, EuroNet... 🙂
Or maybe try your maestro card.

At least Sparkasse makes a difference between bunq Maestro and Mastercard.

@Arcardy#27426
As far as I know banks are only allowed to charge the withdrawal fee from one side.
So either from bunq or from the customer.
@Stefan-Olive-Lynx#27429 Ah, good to know. By the way: Visa doesn't have direct customer fees, at least in germany. Bunq should give out Visa Cards too 😁

Did the ATM at Sparkasse Hamburg really charge the fee? Or did you cancel the withdraw when you read the message?
Maybe the display shows a wrong charge for Mastercard 4,99 EUR? And it is only for Sparkasse customers not for bunqrs?
I never had ATM fees with my bunq Mastercard at Sparkasse Berlin, Volksbank, Euronet, Bankhaus Lenz and others
PhilAce
@Stefan-Olive-Lynx#27420 That’s true. I have the same experience. 👍🏻
I actually tried both, master and maestro. For both sparkasse charges 4 euro something

Not Sparkasse Hamburg but Frankfurt.
I canceled when the fee was displayed. Didn't want to try it out.
Withdrawal with bunq Maestro at the same ATM was without fee.

Have they really charged it, or do they claim to charge this? Maybe the Display is wrong?
Maybe someone would try this out? In Berlin, Sparkasse does not charge for bunq MC and MAESTRO.

Okay, HASPA says:
https://www.haspa.de/blob/16644/b4ae6a87ad6225a5f736f5bd4ad6ce94/preisaushang-data.pdf
We charge you 4,75 EUR:
but 8) if we charge you, ask your bank...
My guess is: they don't charge you, but they let it look, as if...
bunq would be "mit Karten ausländischer Herausgeber" and there are no costs listed.
@SimonM#27458 Hi, Sparkasse definitely charged me the money.
@JanBrodda#27415 I had the same experience at a ic cash atm. They charged me 4,99 Euro.

Hello Björn 👋,
I know its not a perfect solution but you could try using a ATM from Ing-Diba they don't charge for Mastercard withdrawals as far as I know.
@SimonM#27458 your bunq Maestro and Mastercard are technically German cards ;) issued by a Dutch bank.
I hope this helps :)
Timo
@TimoNowitzki#27820 Yeah but thats not a solution because i decided to switch to bunq for some reason and one is that I can withdrawal money everywhere without paying a fee. I mean I pay monthly for the account and I can expect that at least can withdrawal money everywhere.
But thanks for helping me :)

Hi Björn, tested this for you in Berlin:
Euronet (Transact) 0,- Fee
Sparda-Bank Berlin 0,- Fee
Berliner Sparkasse 0,- Fee ( for customers of other german banks 7,50 EUR)
IC Cash 0,- Fee
I used my bunq Mastercard delivered to Berlin, Germany in 12/2017. I think this card is "technically German card" as Timo said.
Do you withdraw 20,- and bunq cashed out 24,99?
Maybe this is different in Hamburg or Frankfurt, would be happy about experience reports, what card did you use?
MAESTRO, Mastercard? What ATM. Was the fee displayed?
@SimonM#27825 Yes exactly, I got 50 and bunq cashed out 54,99.
