There hasn't been any explicit information on this, but I would assume that you can downgrade to Premium next year and keep paying only for the Premium membership without losing access to the Metal Card. If the early adopters would now need to pay for SuperGreen for the next 6 years that their card is valid for, just to be able to use it, that would make no sense.

I just cannot imagine this still being the case now where the Metal Card is available for free in the Premium membership, too. Why would only early adopters be required to have SuperGreen to use the Metal Card, when everyone else isn't?
Also, still some time until March next year. I wouldn't expect the current pricing model to be still valid then anyway.

Ik ben nu geupgrade naar Supergreen en kost normaal gesproken 16,99 per maand voor mij. Ik betaal echter tijdelijk nog steeds 7,99€ per maand. Ik zou willen dat dit zou blijven inclusief de Metal card na maart 2021.

N. PetersRookieAllemaal leuk en aardig. Maar persoonlijk denk ik niet dat veel mensen hierin trappen. Dit is gewoon weer de zoveelste ommezwaai bij bunq. Binnenkort komen ze weer met iets nieuws, omdat ze er gewoon simpelweg te weinig aan verdienen. Ali pompt niet voor niks nog elk jaar verdiensten van TransIP in Bunq.

Now it isn‘t anymore. That‘s why I think early adopters (before April) also don‘t need to be on SuperGreen anymore just to use their Metal Card, as this exclusivity is no longer a thing.
Why would the communication from earlier in the year still be correct if the pricing model changed accordingly?

Vanaf maart 2021 vervalt die korting en betaal ik voor de Supergreen 16,99€. Ik vind dit zelf te hoog voor een bankrekening en wil dan misschien terug naar Premium voor 7,99€ per maand. Kan ik daarna nog steeds de Metal Card blijven gebruiken? Volgens mij niet, tenzij ik dat bij die down grade dat wel kan blijven doen volgend jaar. Volgens jou dan wel?

I know that when SuperGreen was introduced and the Metal Card was made into a part of that membership instead of being a stand-alone product, we have all been upgraded to SuperGreen until March 2021, because we already paid for the first year of the Metal Card product (which was called Green Card at that time). That made sense, because the Metal Card was a part of the SuperGreen membership from then on. You couldn't get it without having SuperGreen.
Now the conditions changed earlier this week. The Metal Card is no longer part of SuperGreen. It is now a card that everyone with any type of bunq subscription (except Travel) can get, as long as they either pre-pay for their subscription plan for a certain number of months (24 for the cheaper subscriptions, 12 for the more expensive ones) or by paying extra for the production (when you're a member of a Pack). From then on, the Metal Card can be used for the next 6 years of its validity without any extra costs. That's why it's now basically "free" (or, at least, no extra costs on top of the current subscription).
Therefore my conclusion is, that of course we as the early Green Card users also don't need to be on SuperGreen anymore to use our Metal Cards. Sure, we still have our rebated SuperGreen subscriptions until March 2021. But the Metal Card is no longer a part of that membership type. So yes, I'm saying that I think we can just downgrade to Premium next March and keep on using the Metal Card until its valid date (or until we lose the card somewhere).
Edit: Now, of course I think it's best to wait on official confirmation for our special case, but wouldn't it be really really weird if regular Premium users could just use their Metal Card for no extra costs for the next 6 years, but we could only do so by staying on SuperGreen? As the SuperGreen membership now not longer has any ties to the Metal Card product, I don't see any reason for why that should be required.

JakobProdigy@Petrus-Olive-Tiger#195098 Ah, so you originally were one of the few that only bought the Green Card without having a Premium membership? Well, then you actually get a pretty good deal. Because when you originally purchased the card, it was advertised as 99 Euros per year. Now only Premium is needed, so you're paying a bit less (95.88 Euros per year) and you get all the Premium features that you couldn't use as a Green Card-only customer previously. And until March you even get all the SuperGreen features on top, just by having paid 99 Euros once.
And no, this is not about who is right or who is wrong. So we don't need to talk again in March ;-) I was just conveying my thought process.
PeterAce@Jakob-Y#195101 Voordat het een wedstrijd ‘wie het verst kan plassen’ wordt, was ik inderdaad al Premium gebruiker die de Greencard erbij kocht en dat grote voordeel met deze Card waar jij het over hebt geldt tot maart 2021 voor 7,99€ per maand. One way or the other, er zal dan waarschijnlijk betaald moeten worden om de kaart te blijven gebruiken. We gaan het zien.
UteChamp@Jakob-Y#195101 Deine Annahme, die Premium-Mitglieder könnten ihre Metallkarte 6 Jahre lang verwenden, ist sehr optimistisch angesichts der bisherigen Erfahrungen. Es könnte auch sein, dass dann nach 24 Monaten erneut für weitere 2 Jahre im Voraus bezahlt werden muss. Und diese Variante halte ich auch bei den Supergreen-Nutzern für wahrscheinlich, wenn sie ihr Konto auf Premium herabstufen wollen. Vielleicht müssen auch sie dann für 2 Jahre im Voraus bezahlen, um ihre Metallkarte weiter verwenden zu können.
