• Unable to make a payment

Hi I am a Travel Card account holder based in the UK. Previously I have been able to make SEPA payments without problem.

Yesterday when trying to make a SEPA payment I am unable to complete it. Once I have entered Name, IBAN, reference, payment amount etc and click confirm I am taken to a screen that advetises a free month trial of the Bunq Premium. I am unable to get the confirmation screen.

I was keen to make the payment so even tried signing up for the free month's trial but even this doesnt work. When I click on sign up it just takes me back to the screen offering a free trial.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    That's a bit strange, because bank transfers are only included in the paid memberships. The only thing you can do on the Travel membership is cashing out all of your money (through SEPA transfer): https://together.bunq.com/d/13634-how-do-i-withdraw-money-from-my-bunq-travel-card

    As for why the trial signup doesn't work, I do not know. If you want to make a regular upgrade to Premium, you should be able to do so from the membership settings.

      Yes, I just checked the Travel Card FAQ and it says no payments out with the travel card. It has previously been letting me make SEPA payments out to 3rd parties so not sure what happened.

      Seems like as I have already had a free trial I cannot sign up for another one.

      Is there an option just to upgrade to Premium without having to sign up for a free month trial? Happy to pay but there does not seem to be another option other than for a free trial, which when I click on it just reloads the same page.

        Click on the Profile tab, then open settings (top right) and choose "My membership". On that screen you should be able to switch to any membership of your choice. All memberships are pre-paid monthly and can be switched any time (except in case you order a Metal Card, then you have to commit for a longer time).

        Maybe that was during your Premium trial phase? IIRC, the Travel membership has been this way since its inception. But the V3 app has also been a bit glitchy at the start, so I wouldn't rule anything out.

          I am unable to update my membership through the app. It just does not work after I click on upgrade. I have linked a video of me trying and failing to upgrade.

          I raised a support ticket in the app on 28.08.20 but it has not been responded to yet. Do you know how long does support normally takes?

            A year ago it would've been a few hours, but lately it seems to be taking multiple days on the regular.

              7 months later

              Sort of annoying the app lets you make the payment all the way up till the last step before notifying the user they can't actually make a payment unless they upgrade.
