JAY JAY Gut, ausgehend davon, dass du auch in Deutschland gemeldet bist, brauchst du noch einen Adress-Nachweis. Hat der Support denn was gesagt diesbezüglich? Akzeptieren sie nur einen Perso oder ggf. auch andere Dokumente wie Strom-Rechnungen?

JAY JAY Denke mal das müsstest du nachfragen. Nur mit Reisepass ist es schwer zu prüfen, ob du auch in Deutschland wohnhaft bist.

Patrick Vielleicht lebt der OP auch gar nicht in Deutschland und möchte trotzdem ein Konto eröffnen. Würde erklären wieso er keinen Perso mehr hat und wieso die App einen extra Adressnachweis will. Oft reicht ja sonst die Bestätigung über Handy-GPS. Bis jetzt hat er ja eher ausweichend geantwortet. 😉

Yep, you cannot use a passport from Pakistan to go through verification. In general, many citizens from non-EU countries need a residence permit card instead. To assess your situation better and see if you're allowed to open a bunq account, please contact Support. You can get to it in the app by following these steps:

Go to Profile
Tap on Settings in the right corner on top
Scroll to the bottom, tap on Need help? Get Support, then choose Personal Support

Jakob Hey Jakob, any idea if Bunq accepts permanent residents of Germany who hold passports from Pakistan?

Sara You cannot use your passport from Pakistan for verification. But if you‘re a permanent resident in Germany and you can get an elektronischer Aufenthaltstitel (eAT) (a plastic card which identifies you as a permanent resident) then you can use that and don‘t have to use your passport.

Hey Jakob thanks for the quick response. I did use my aufenhaltstitle- my verification is taking longer than 5 minutes but I guess that’s just how it goes ?

In certain cases it might be necessary for bunq to do a manual double-check. If there is any additional information needed, they will reach out to your through the app, so check in once in a while. Hope you can get going quickly!

Hello, My name is Alina, I'm a refugee from Ukraine and have tried to open a Bunq account. Twice my application has been rejected. I'm told my passport is not accepted - this is an older passport and is not the machine readable type. This is the only passport I have. Can exceptions be made for us? How can I open an account with you?

For legal reasons, we can only accept Ukrainian passports for now. If you get a residence permit, we will be able to accept that as well! 🙏

Vitaly 🇪🇸🇬🇧 Hello Vitaly, the passport I have IS a Ukrainian passport, but not a machine readable passport. As refugee status we wont receive a residence permit. According to refugeehelp.com we can ask Bunq for an account - many Ukrainians have this older passport, so will have the same problem. Please make exceptions for us, we cannot receive payments without an account.
