I’m wondering which card has higher individual protection from theft?

Which card is safer to use in higher risk environments MasterCard or Maestro?

For example in the states I always used credit cards (or visa debit card) while traveling because I was never at risk of paying for something if my card was stolen. I once had my card skimmed and the money was withdrawn from my account but visa has insurance and I was immodestly reimbursed.

    @Peter-Navy-Eagle-1934641386#30709 Both cards (in my humble opinion) have the same amount of protection. However both a debit cards so I would say that the protection on both is close to zero, since funds are taken directly from your account with both cards. I would recommend to use the MasterCard, disable the magnetic strip, disable dodgy payments and you are safe for skimming and anything unauthorized without using your pin and/or cvc.
