  • [REPORTED] Battery problem: very high usage in the background.

I own a Galaxy Note 10+, the battery is pretty big. I have watched a lot of Prime Video today (1,5 hour), but bunq uses about the same amount of battery in the background on Android.

Why is that?

    Echt geen idee wat die app allemaal doet op de achtergrond, maar dit lijkt me niet echt normaal...

    Ik hoop dat er snel een oplossing voor wordt gevonden

      Same here, I'm running version 15.1.1 of the Bunq Android app and it has been using 16% of my battery in the last ~ 8 hours

          Here too. 33% of battery in last 13 hrs. All on background, even though I've put the app on sleep in background... Really strange.

          Please do something about this or I will have to move my banking to another bank with a solid app. This is utter nonsense.

            Hi people,

            We're trying to figure out what is going on here, and we could use some extra information. Could you tell us:

            • Whether you have 'Tap & Pay' enabled (and are using it)
            • Whether you use the 'Travel Assistant Notifications' (you can find that via 'Profile' -> settings/gear icon -> 'Security & Preferences' -> 'Notifications' -> scroll down to the 'Travel Assistant Notifications' section

            Also some things you can try that might help the investigation:

            • Disable 'Tap & Pay'.
            • Disable the 'Travel Assistant Notifications'.
            • Revoke the 'Location' permission of the bunq app (this differs per device, but usually it is visible via long-pressing the bunq icon -> 'App Info' -> 'Permissions' -> 'Location', or you can find it via the settings app).
            • Kill the bunq app (again via 'App Info' -> 'Force Stop').

            If possible, please try those options and see if the (background) battery usage becomes significantly less. It may help to reset the battery usage history, often done by fully charging the phone.

              Same here on galaxy s8. Started about 2 weeks ago i think.

              he app is using 30% battery in about 4 hours of background usage. I have the option "put app to sleep if in background usage" turned on in my phone, since i first noticed this behaviour. But with the same results.

              I have non of the options enabled that Wessel mentioned. Please fix asap, this is making my phone unusable for a full day and its getting hot killing my battery shelf life....

                  I am using tap and pay, I did have notifcations on. I am going to reset my phone and install bunq from the start. I need tap and pay but I am turning off the notifications for travel. I will report back

                    @Wessel-Van#205019 Bij mij ook dit probleem. De reisassistent functie staat bij mij niet aan. Tikken en betalen wél.

                    Het is mij nog niet helemaal duidelijk wanneer het probleem optreed. Ik heb het namelijk niet altijd maar een enkele keer per week.

                    Vandaag bijvoorbeeld heb ik het nadat ik de app geopend heb voor een incasso verzoek en wat geld op me spaarrekening heb gezet. Verder geen NFC betaling gedaan.

                        Bei mir tritt das Problem seit dem letzten Update auch auf. Nichts geändert zu vorher, ausser die aktuellste Version installiert.
