• maestro Card number (and Debit clarifications)

Hi,
I am all new to the bunq experience and I find it really great so far.
Now I just stumpled across my first "problem": where and how can I find my maestro card number? It's not listed in the app like in the gif of this thread (https://together.bunq.com/d/2998-apple-pay-setup) so I was just wondering why this might be the case and how I can resolve it.

Thanks and Cheers
Marc

The card number (and CVC) are only visible for Apple Pay eligible cards. Your Maestro card is probably a NL card (or other unsupported country). Once Apple Pay launches in the country you can see the card number. πŸ™‚

@Marc-Cyan-Dolphin#31279 Not sure about the reason for the popularity of Mastercards, but no, bunq never issued Visa cards, and regardless they aren't credit cards, but Debit Mastercards.

I just wanna point out that you're saying "bunq CC", but the bunq MasterCard is not a Credit Card. It's a debit card, so if you're going on vacation and want to rent a car or something, there's a chance you'll need an actual credit card too.

Yeah thanks everybody for the heads up! I am aware of this, actually from sec one. πŸ€™
Sorry for being a lil' imprecise in my wording there. It's still kinda early... πŸ˜Œβ˜•οΈ

With the MasterCard I am actually rather aiming for acceptance abroad not the "Credit": I got another card for that (car rentals and the like).

          Cheers

Marc Tiedemann changed the title to maestro Card number (and Debit clarifications).

In the Netherlands Mastercard en Visa debit cards are virtually non-existent. Most banks only offer credit cards and Maestro debit cards. So people wanting a Mastercard or Visa without credit line often revert to prepaid cards by third parties. But prepaid cards have to be topped up before a payment can be made which can be annoying.
As far as I know bunq is the first bank offering these debit cards in the Netherlands which might explain the popularity. And you also have to consider the fact that these cards are in higher demand during the summer season when people want to pay with it at their holiday destination.

I can’t speak for other countries, but for the Netherlands this is an import consideration.
