  • Can I transfer money to Serbia

πŸ‡·πŸ‡Έ Hi, no one answered me why there is no option to send money to Serbia???

    Hi πŸ‘‹ @Dragana-Purple-Tiger#209413

You should be able to send transfers in EUR to Serbia but it's correct you can't send money in Serbian Dinar. You can simply enter the IBAN and the transfer will be processed by Transferwise through the SWIFT network. USD and GBP are usually also supported to additional countries.

Hi Tim, yes I tried to send to the EU on a foreign currency account (EU) but after that he asks me for some special additional information for the transaction.

Or you want to tell me that through Transferwis I am charged an additional service for sending money to another country.

@Dragana-Purple-Tiger#209419 Using the SWIFT network is not free for participating banks and services like TransferWise, so they charge fees for such transfers. When you send in Euros, as thereβ€˜s no currency conversion, the fee is comparably low.

Tim changed the title to Can I transfer money to Serbia .

@Dragana-Purple-Tiger#216081 Hi Dragana, take a look here: https://transferwise.com/help/articles/2968916/sending-eur-to-countries-outside-of-europe TransferWise currently charges 3.55 Euro for the SWIFT transfer in addition to their regular fees, which is 0.41 Euro for Euro-> Euro transfers, so you probably have paid 3.96 Euro in fees for the SWIFT transfer to Serbia, regardless of amount because both of these are fixed fees. The last fee change was apparently on January 4th according to this blog article: https://transferwise.com/gb/blog/changing-send-eur-outside-europe-fees

Yes, to always use a Visa transver ( from EU in EU wedaut konverting money) ... that's why it's strange for me to increase the transaction

@Dragana-Purple-Tiger#216088 Using the SWIFT payment network is quite expensive. That's why TransferWise changed their fee structure for this particular payment method. Unfortunately for transfers to Serbia, no other cheaper payment method is available. Serbia is a country in Europe, but it's definitely not in the EU nor in the SEPA. And sadly, currently it doesn't really look like that will change anytime soon.
