bunq Update 16 Feedback
MitchellRookie
I am not sure I understand the new ‘friends’ tab. Well, I do, but I would combine it with some insights. Since I have no bunq friends (yeah it’s sad), the tab only shows info about my payment locations which is awesome but it does feel unnecessary.

I want to be able to opt-out of all this social BS. It has no place in a banking app. It needs to be only about me and not about 'the community'. Just leave me alone and let me manage my money.
This last update for me is another push towards the point where I'm fed up with it all and leaving..

Bedankt voor de update!! Zeker meerdere goede features!!

Hi Team,
For starters, I must say I really enjoyed the format of the update presentation. It was an interesting chat, felt pretty casual and it’s nice to see a bit of an interactive chat about the new features.
I think the update brought a number of cool new features. I have some feedback and personal preferences I’d like to share:
- The loyalty cards are a great idea. I often forget mine or have to open additional apps to scan them, so it’s very nice to have them all in one place. I hope this feature keeps being developed as I found that after adding a few I lost overview quick. It would be nice if there were some smart features, such as displaying the cards of nearby shops. Also, these loyalty cards shouldn’t count towards your ‘cards’ total that is displayed on the Home Screen.
- I like a lot of the new features that are displayed in the ‘friends’ tabs. For example, the map is really cool and I like to look at the places where I bought stuff. Is it useful? Not sure, but it sure is fun. It’s also good we finally have a list of contacts (although I wouldn’t have called it ‘friends’). I hope this get developed further so we get options to add, remove, edit, etc.
- Personally I like to keep my banking experience a bit less social. As said, most of the contents of the ‘friends’ tab are cool, but I feel I’d rather have seen some of these (e.g. the contacts and map) on my profile page, or on an ‘events’ tab, instead of a friends tab.
- Also, it’s cool to see my girlfriend and I can be tree planting besties. This makes the subscription between 2 people better value :)!
Now, last thing to say for me is to give some wishes for the next update. Although V2 was my favourite version of bunq, V3 is shaping up nicely. As said, the whole social aspect is not so much for me as I like to keep my banking personal, so my wish for a next version would be to have a bottom menu that is a bit of a mix between V2 and V3, containing the following tabs:
- Home (pretty much as it is)
- Events (overview of all events, the current map, the trees, etc)
- Scan (as it is),
- Products (e.g. showing the cards, subscriptions, etc.)
- Profile (contains personal info and settings)
I think overall a very nice update, well done!

@R#215266 Thanks René :). V3 is only starting; and I'm very glad to see that you (and many others) are starting to increasingly like it. (with the introduction of V2 we had similar strong reactions of some in the first 6 or so months). We'll take your feedback into consideration and see where we can improve.
"Inner Circle" for example is already on the list for a big improvement (as we prefer do ship quickly sometimes we're forced improvements in 2 or 3 steps; that's how we keep innovating without having hours and hours of downtime like some of the traditional players have).
In the end money is social. It's a social construct, a global agreement between peoples. And I think at bunq we're trying to bring all those people closer together; the bank of The Free. You ain't seen nothing yet ;)...

@Ali#215270 Always curious to see what’s coming, stuck at home anyway so I’ll be here watching :)!

After years of using the app and witnessing the many updates, I I still find it difficult (to remember ) where to initiate a ticket for support. This feature should be within 1 click away of the main screen.
And then there is all the additional noise all over the app which seems to be increasing with every update. Noise, such as social media features, something about trees and the list goes on about all the things that have nothing to do with core banking services. I'm experiencing a declining user experience over the years, more confusion and more time I need to spend to be able to conduct banking on my Bunq app, because of all the noise being added, constant (big) changes to the user interface of the app.
Bunq seems to be going down a path that resembles some sort of Wechat type of experience that I'm not interested in.
And when initiating a ticket support, I have to sometimes wait hours or days to receive a response from support. To which I then respond and have to again wait days for a response. The ticket support system and waiting time for a proper response is by far the worst experience which needs the right attention it deserves and has not been getting for a long time now. For e.g. I created a ticket (an hour ago) regarding a deposit I wish to make, but am afraid to conduct it since I'm not sure it will go through properly. Now I have to wait perhaps days and go back and forth for days/weeks more to be assured I can conduct a deposit transaction.
And the worst part of it all, I'm paying for it!
@HenryB#215373 Me too! 😩
