  • bunq Update 16 Feedback

Thanks for the features, but please, clean up the UI. Every time I have to do something in this app, it feels like I'm walking in to a messy child's room.

@Ali#215270 Money is not social, on the contrary. My spendings and earnings are one of the most private data I have.

Whichever great mind thought of this option to share such a private thing would be a great idea should be admitted to a mental institution. Especially when this great mind sells this service as being keen on privacy.

My money, my spendings, my earnings are mine and mine alone. Not even a bank (which I ordered to enable me to manage my money) should be interested in this data. They should just enable and make managing my money easy and seamless.

When bunq keeps bragging on their view on privacy being paramount, they should stop developing ways to share such private data. The best way to ensure my privacy is by making sure I can’t share my data in any way. It should be save in my app and at my bank.

Somehow I lost the confidence in the safety of my data with each new way bunq enables the app to share data. I am positive there are ways I can accidentally share data without knowing with people and businesses I don’t want to share it with.

The new feature doesn’t disclose what data is shared with whom and what I can do to prevent this. It just feels unsafe.

@Ali#215270 Hi Ali, I have a serious question: does the bunq marketing and communication teams are only willing to repeat the same messages, or actually there is someone who listens to what clients have to say?

Bunq was famously known for being open to its clients. However since V3 11 month ago) this steers in a different direction. Please do not misunderstand, we are happy for the innovative approach of bunq but I feel there is a huge gap between the reality and what bunq is trying to communicate.

If my bank turns into a social media network, if my private data is shared, if I cannot find easily basic functions in the app, if every update brings new bugs as they weren't properly tested etc. then clients would leave. And in the era of quick info sharing the news will spread fast and could harm seriously bunq.

I hope there is someone out there to listen to us, and to protect not only our money but also our privacy. All we would need is an open minded and innovative bunq, not a social media app that is filled with lags and/or bugs.

                Thank you for your attention.

                  Hi,

I think what defines bunq is precisely that it's willing to have an open dialogue with its users. Of course dialogue means both parties involved should be open to listen; which is unfortunately not always the case. As for our product roadmap and decisions; they're based on the wishes of the many rather than the wishes of the few. Some, especially in certain topics on certain fora, confuse not having things precisely their way with bunq not listening.

Your privacy, as well as your money, has always been in safe hands with bunq. The motivation of people claiming otherwise often stems from the above; trying to get their way, rather than trying to make bunq a better place for all its users at large.

                  Have a nice weekend,

                  Ali

@Ali#215919 The wishes of many is actually to opt-out of all social functionality and have a clean, straightforward modern banking app, as bunq used to be with V2.

                      @Ali#215919 Hoi Ali,

                        Hi 👋🏼 all,

I think bunq hasn’t changed regarding their vision since they launched their first App. If anything, it has become more visible since V3. And I’m loving it.

But still, I can understand not everybody loves or needs a banking experience that focuses on making the world a better place in various ways. And that’s perfectly fine. Fortunately, there is lots to choose from in the world of banking. So, you can always find a bank that fits your needs better. But if you want to stick around to see if bunq becomes a traditional bank, that’s fine too....... hope you are a very patient person 😉

You can say a lot about bunq, but definitely not that bunq doesn’t listen. There are countless examples were bunq introduced or altered a feature simply because users asked for it! And that is one of the many many things I love about bunq, the whole “we are in it together” vibe.

What kind of bugs me are some fellow users that always magically seems to know what the majority wants. The majority is everywhere and not only on social media. There are lots of users that share their feedback more privately. And bunq also gets insights from app data, support calls, market research, and surveys... to name a few ;)

At the end it’s all about trust. And I trust bunq to make every decision with my best interest at heart ❤️.

I’m proud to be part of the bunq community. And I think bunq is on the right track 🚀... and also Update16 was a stunning update.. again. It always amazed me how bunq is able to launch so many cool stuff in such a short period! Job well done dear bunq team!

@krmkrx#215924 Well, the whole social thing is opt-in in the first place, and you can always opt-out. So... wish granted? As for what the wishes of the many are, I‘m sure bunq has a lot of channels on that they‘re listening. People actively participating in the community forum being one part of that.

@Jakob-Y#215944 Opt-out in the sense of not having 2 useless tabs in the banking app consuming space. I’d be happy to have much more customisation so that I can build my own banking app. Putting buttons, functions and shortcuts right where I need them. As I am not using any of the social functions, 80% of the space in the app is wasted.

@krmkrx#215946 I understand the wish for an opt-out... but that feels a bit like asking Netflix to have an opt-out for series. The social and environmental aspect are part of bunqs identity. I think they never would put that behind a button to hide them. Also not something most users want I think.

@Bastiaan#215975 I don’t want to become a developer myself just to have a decent banking experience, sorry. This can’t be a serious suggestion. 😉

@krmkrx#215977 You want a decent banking experience! Then you are in luck! bunq provides the best banking experience! Of let me know which bank does a way better job and also have the same features.

Actually, for Germany speaking, there is no similar experience when it comes to features, especially the easy budgeting with sub-accounts, this is awesome and unique to bunq indeed! But me and a lot of others still wish to just tone down the social and „green“ functionalities a bit. Let me replace the Friends tab with the Events overview for example! It used to be so easy to be up to date about what’s happening on ALL accounts with just one glance. Just an example of how everyone could fine-tune their banking experience exactly how needed, by placing what’s most important to me where I need it. Just an idea!
