  • Advice on migration to Bunq

I'm considering to transfer all my bank accounts to Bunq, but I'm not sure what the most fitting is. I basically have the following "setup":
- 1 company
- 2 adults
- 3 children (preferably minimal two bank accounts per child)

I'm considering the Bunq-pack (3 premium + 1 business), but in that case I have two children without an account. For the time being the youngest two could work with a Free-account, having only one bank-account. Is there a possibility, now or in the future, that makes it possible to extend the Bunq pack with extra accounts?

Side-question: Are transfers from/to my business-account and premium-account (within the same pack) also "payed" transfers?

@Taco-Lime-Eagle#32817 nice that you are considering bunq! 😁

I would personally indeed get one Pack for the business + 3 users. And the other kids I would also place in a Pack (elsewhere).
What you can is do is as follows, both parents or a parent+company get a bunq Pack (such that children don't have the monthly fees on their accounts). Then you can fill up the empty spaces with other people that you know in real life or that you find on Together / other social channels. You can also create a single Pack, and ask to join someones Pack for the remaining spots that you need. Depends on whether you want to be the Pack leader or not. 😁 Of course you can always start a Pack and 2 separate Premium subscripts, there are multiple possibilities.

Business accounts come with Business pricing bunq Pack removes the default monthly fee (for Business 9,99€/mo), but the fees per transaction/resource remain of course. πŸ™‚ You can find more on that at https://bunq.com/pricing.

    Cheers. 🌈

Yes, if you have a private account and a business account, your business account will get charged every time your receive or send money, even if it's from your own private account. It quickly adds up, with €0.10 I think, per transfer from and to another bunq account.

Please note that if you enable the Dutch transfer service, you can not stop your account early without paying a big sum of money (it's in their TOS).

Yesterday I ended up buying the Bunq Pack. I don't use the transfer service. I'll keep my other accounts for a while, so I can check the automatic transfers.

So I assume transferring money from my Business to my Premium-account costs 0,10 each time. Although I think that's not very cool, I'll try to see it from the positive side; it's a little incentive to keep business and private separated.

How about transferring money between my bank accounts (NL: rekening) within the same Business-account? Does that cost € 0,10 per transfer as well?

@tjosinga#32962 I believe that transferring money between different IBAN bank accounts, on the same bunq Business account is free. Someone correct me if I am wrong please.

@Dennis#32968 Transfers between your own bunq accounts (e.g. in the same list and not-connected) are indeed free!

                Hi Taco,

Have the same setup minus one kid. Since my kids are very young (0 and 2), I do not have an account for them yet.

I do believe depending on their needs 1 bunq pack is enough. If your willing to give them a free account and share one card from yourself. Do a connect from your account.

My goal is that when my kids grow older they gain more access and via the bunq pack they can grow into it from free to paid. I have separate savings accounts for them and plan on having separate running accounts. Since they are not 18 they do not need full permissions or ownership of the money yet. I believe we can manage this later and control the saving and spending accounts in a way where we as parents discuss the setup when they are old enough. Goal is for them to have an understanding of money. By saving, working and spending with limits. As well as using several small accounts to manage it.

Hope this helps, my business account pays the bunq pack. With my wife I have shared accounts. We moved all sepa direct debits rather quickly and only have an old ING account due to history :) Everything we do is via bunq, planning trips is a new account. If with friends we share it to their free account.
