Yes, please. This design looks great 😍😭

    The black card design 🙌🙌

When a british mobile bank (I think you know which one I mean) launched their metal debit card, I ordered it on day one.
And it's true, it really feels and looks amazing. For a few months I used it nearly every day. But over time (and after the apple pay start in Germany) I switched more and more to paying with apple pay. Now my nice (and expensive) premium card sits in my wallet and is almost never used anymore.
I think the future is in mobile devices. Why carry an extra card if the device a always carry around can do the same? All I need my physical card for most of the time is to withdraw cash 1-3 times a month for the places which dont accept card payment. I barely ever encounter terminals with mastercard acceptance but without contactless. For these rare events I dont need a special card, especially if its bad for the environment.

A real credit card on the other hand (I know what bunq thinks about credit, but on the other hand we have personal lending in "freedom of choice" - so who knows what the future will bring) would be a whole different deal. Here I would really be interested in a premium product with cool features and made from cool materials like metal or something even more cooler I dont even think about. A premium credit card still is a statement, a premium debit card is just pretending.

@Emmo#82827 Most aren’t lucky enough to be in a country where Apple Pay is supported by bunq 😕

              @Emmo#82827 Agreed.

Though I do agree the design of the bunq card could be a bit more subtle, I don’t see the value of a metal card at all.

I believe @Ali already wrote that he thinks it is a bad idea because of the way it will affect the environment. I agree. If you want to be a ‘green bank’, you should produce as less plastic stuff as possible.

Also, I have a Mastercard and a maestro from bunq. Now, let’s be honest, I’ll use Mastercard only on travel. It’s a card that will never see much daylight. And so will be the metal card. The current card is good enough and I don’t see a reason to change that.

@DaveFlash#61160 And wearables dont generate waste? You do realize cellphones are maybe 1.000 times worse then a metal card...for the environment

@Sebastian-Pink-Cheetah#82714 If it were a credit card wouldn't you just use Apple Pay too? I mean, you are saying you hardly use your physical debit card because paying with the phone is easier. I fail to see how this would be different if it were a physical credit card.

Even though I must admit that some of the suggested card designs are beautiful I just think... who needs cards anyway!?
Nowadays with Google and Apple Pay functionality already available in a lot of countries and more coming soon, a card is becoming an old fashioned payment method. More wearables will be introduced as well. I seldom use a card and many times don’t even take these with me goin to the supermarket.

@Dennis-Lime-Panther#82891 You do realize that if you already have a cellphone it doesn’t generate any extra waste?

A cellphone + card is more waste than just a cellphone...

@JeroenE#82895 I wouldn't buy a bunq Metal card either, but why even this discussion about the environment? If you don't like to use it, just don't buy a bunq Metal Card if it gets available and if someone wants a bunq Metal Card he can order one.. that simple. Let people choose, don't take the choices away just because you don't like it.

@Michiel#82924 I'm just pointing out the irony of saving such a minor thing, over finding completly acceptable for anyone to have such a unfriendly environmental device.

@JeroenE#82937 Sry but the Google Translator is very bad from Dutch to German.
