When I read:
supercool option,
brings a lot of style,
make a perfect impression,
feels good to have one,
This reminds me of pre-puberty status symbols in relation to a credit card

Ich würde auch eine Metall Karte bevorzugen wenn sie dann stabiler als die Plastik Karte ist und langlebiger.

no not metal, I want a titanium bunq card with just a name on it. no numbers, no magstrip just chip+nfc and a name.

@----#79882 I don’t understand the need to insult those who have expressed an interest in this. If you don’t want one, fine, don’t vote for it 🤷‍♂️

I don't really think a Metal card is that needed, but I would love to see a different design.

It could be an great product and you would follow N26 and Revolut.

however only an Metal card is not enough. I think that it should have additional benefits like an insurance package and a better access to Customer desk.

Tim changed the title to Idea: Metal cards.

Nice to see that a lot of people like my design idea! ✨

Next to that, Apple’s idea of the card that will never expire the best and most sustainable idea ever! Plastic cards will break in a while (it happens a lot with my cards) but an almost unbreakable material as metal, titanium or something else would be great!

It would be even better if we could pay everything with our phone. But sadly the world isn’t ready yet for this. Absolutely not The Netherlands, Amsterdam maybe, but the smaller city’s are not so modern. And other countries use even more cash or traditional bank cards. So sadly the world isn’t ready yet to switch to a completely mobile payment system.

So al things together, if we try to make everything so mobile as we can (with the online cards for example) it would be nice to have 1 extremely unbreakable card made of metal, titanium or something like that, but than with an date that never expires.

Btw, are there countries that still use the magnet strip? I always thought that everything was replaced by the chip?

Anyways keep coming up with great ideas to make this idea better and better! 🌈🤩

@Tijnie#80713 Really love the black design.

The only place recently where I’ve had to use the mag strip is in the US... and it was cloned!! 😂

@Tijnie#80713 Agree that such a card could be very sustainable.

I believe America makes a lot of use of the magnet strip.

                          @Michiel#80716 Ah okay 🇺🇸

                            6 days later

Yes, please. This design looks great 😍😭

                              The black card design 🙌🙌

@Tijnie#35018 Niet alleen voor de mastercards, maar ook voor de maestro.

When a british mobile bank (I think you know which one I mean) launched their metal debit card, I ordered it on day one.
And it's true, it really feels and looks amazing. For a few months I used it nearly every day. But over time (and after the apple pay start in Germany) I switched more and more to paying with apple pay. Now my nice (and expensive) premium card sits in my wallet and is almost never used anymore.
I think the future is in mobile devices. Why carry an extra card if the device a always carry around can do the same? All I need my physical card for most of the time is to withdraw cash 1-3 times a month for the places which dont accept card payment. I barely ever encounter terminals with mastercard acceptance but without contactless. For these rare events I dont need a special card, especially if its bad for the environment.

A real credit card on the other hand (I know what bunq thinks about credit, but on the other hand we have personal lending in "freedom of choice" - so who knows what the future will bring) would be a whole different deal. Here I would really be interested in a premium product with cool features and made from cool materials like metal or something even more cooler I dont even think about. A premium credit card still is a statement, a premium debit card is just pretending.
