As I wrote in another thread already: Iâm very disappointed that there is no option to withdraw more than 250⏠if one REALLY needs to. Not even for a fee. It is simply no option. This seriously limits bunqâs use in cash-based countries of which there are still plenty both inside and outside of the EU (e.g. Germany). I donât doubt that very few need more than 250⏠cash per day, but sometimes you do. And if you do, bunq isnât there for you.
One must not forget that bunq is still a startup with a very jumpy and unpredictable CEO whoâs constantly on the brink of burnout and demands the same level of commitment from his employees. bunq has always been a surprising experience to put it mildly. At least back in the day of free or 1⏠bunq accounts, the good news overshadowed the bad ones.
Since bunq is actively courting investors they became hyper focused on pimping the numbers and we felt that in the last âupdatesâ. I donât condone this strive for investment, but rather see it as a necessary next step since Ali canât pay for the next level of expansion out of his own pocket. Iâm rather disappointed in myself that I let myself become so depend on an unpredictable and intransparent startup.
I will break that dependency by targeting my salary and other sources of income towards a boring but reliable bank and then transferring only what I spend to bunq. By having only outgoing payments in bunq it will be much easier to pull the plug if bunq continues to let its customer suck it up.
