  • Unable to use Easy Green card at grocery store

I got an Easy Green card with the idea to use it for all of my purchases. However, I can't figure out how to use the card at my local grocery store (Albert Heijn). If I use the metal card, it is not accepted by the pin machine. I can imagine that is because it's a credit card. So I also added the card to Apple Pay, but when I try to use that it is also refused.

So now I'm paying to have Easy Green, yet I can't use it for most of my personal spending, which makes it pretty useless to me at the moment.

Is it supposed to work with Apple Pay at AH?

    @Thijs-Maroon-Leopard#227079 Hello,

    Albert Heijn only supports Maestro and V-Pay cards, no Mastercard unfortunately.
    Mastercard is supported at, for example, Lidl, Aldi, Action, Kruidvat and some Jumbo shops.

      @Thijs-Maroon-Leopard#227079 So now I'm paying to have Easy Green

      On Easy Money and Easy Green, you can order up to 3 cards for no extra costs. If you're often gonna use shops that don't accept Mastercard, my recommendation would be to also get a Maestro card. You can of course use the Maestro card with Apple Pay if you want and then pay at AH.

        @Jakob-Y#227093 I have a debit card for that account too, but I was under the impression that using those will not result in trees being planted. Is that correct? Because if that is the case, I might as well choose Easy Money over Easy Green because I hardly use my CC for personal spending.

          @Thijs-Maroon-Leopard#227145 Is that correct?

          That's not correct. All cards count in the same way.

            @Jakob-Y#227146 Thanks for clearing this up! I'll start using my debit card instead then.
