Daniel 🇩🇪 i have understood the part "and anonymous app usage data" to mean that analysed data are collected by the app. This is mostly done by other providers, if this is not the case i am sorry.
ah I see, I dont know about the data collected, thats something for @Ward to answer.
Daniel 🇩🇪 "The only thing the server is doing is working as a tunnel to pass data from bunq’s server to the phone."
So the data's being routed through your server?
Not though my server, but through the server @Ward is using, he is the author of this app. Im just a enthusiastic user 😊. But yes, this is how it works. But the server is not storing anything. Its functioning now like a tunnel according to @Ward
Daniel 🇩🇪 One more question I would like to ask about the categories and how are they recognized? Or do I have to assign them by hand?
The assigning algorithm is ran on the device(iPhone) there are some predefined categories which categorises payments based on some common data. The rest, will be uncategorised and you have to categorise them your self indeed. If the algorithm detects a pattern with what the category you assigned to a payment and other remaining uncategorised payments, it will ask you if you want to include theses in the specific category as well.
This means, that the categorising algorithm won't become smarter fast, because no data is shared between users on how to categorise payments.
