  • Eypo for iOS: crystal clear insights in your monthly expenses

Délano How does it work when I categorise debits and credits under the same category, does it even each other out?

No, I currently does not even each other out. The overview screen shows just all expenses. I've thought about evening out, but that wouldn't be 100% reliable if someone pays you back in a different month.

OGKevin: I've added all feedback to the "ideas" list. Some things require me to rethink some aspects of the app, so those would take a little more time.

Daniel 🇩🇪 You write on your Privacy page "and anonymous app usage data" is there a opt-in?

No, for the beta this is not opt-in. The beta is meant to get feedback and insights in how users use the app. Usage data is a vital aspect of that. Whether this stays the same for the final version is to be decided later.

Still huge thanks for all good feedback and questions guys 🎉. I'm a little busy now and also going on a small holiday, so development is going a bit slower.

@Ward how does the cloud based categorization work ? Is it the same way we suggested above ?

OGKevin Yes, it works by extracting certain keywords and finding a matching category. When you manually classify a transaction on your phone, the keywords are sent to the server along with the category you selected.

It also takes into account the type of transaction. For example, the algorithm does not train on manual bank transfers, because those are often more personal and person-to-person.

Ward Alright, it would be nice to see how much income you’ve had and how much you can still spent of it. Plus the 25th month rotation 😊

can you add me through testflight for beta on iOS?

          • Ward replied to this.

It’s a shame you need a premium account to test this app.

DaveFlash Hi Dave! I can, but I need your email address for that. If you sign up at https://www.eypo.app, I'll make sure you get into the beta. (And if you already did, you will receive your invite soon).

Maurits Unfortunately we cannot do anything about this Maurits. This is a restriction put into place by Bunq.

OGKevin Good points 💪🏻, they are on the list.

Hi all! It's been a while, but I just released beta version 10 🥳. A lot of things changed under the hood, paving the way for more cool features in the future.

📉 I've been experimenting with giving insights on your spending, so you can see which expenses are going up, and which expenses are going down. It's just an experiment for now, so the analysis may not be 100% correct, but I hope it will be(come) useful to you all.

💬 Tonight at Update #9 I will also be there, looking forward to meeting some of you! Feel free to find me if you want to chat about the app, about something else, or just to get my autograph.

How does Eypo handle shared/joint accounts? I just tried to re-authorise Eypo’s access to my bunq accounts and a joint/shared account does not show up in Eypo.

Ward changed the title to Eypo for iOS: crystal clear insights in your monthly expenses.

A much requested feature has landed in the latest version: custom budgets! You can set multiple budgets for all 8 main categories, and see how much you have left to spend.

                        Ward Hi 👋

I've been playing around with Eypo for a bit, and I love it! 🌈

One thing I'd love is a category for Travel / Holidays. My use case is that I go on weekend trips with friends, and we all just pay for various things and use Slice to settle up at the end. The way my brain works, I just call all of those expenses "Travel" regardless of whether it's fuel, a car, a restaurant or whatever.

I get that automatic categorisation woudn't work properly for that, but it would still be awesome to have the category so I could manually set it.

Feels weird to be on the other end of a feature request for once 😂.

Keep up the awesome work guys, can't wait to see Eypo launch!

                        Cheers,
                        Tom

Tom Nice to hear that you like the app :). Good suggestion for the Travel / Holidays category. I think this could be a subcategory of the "Fun" group. Would that work for your case?

Ward Yep that would work well :)

I am loving Eypo too! Adding to the suggestion about categories above, would it be possible to have custom categories? I understand this won’t work with automatic categorisation, but it could be on the device only.

Hee Ward, is it still possible to do some beta testing. Would live to get some more insights in my spending. Exactly one of the reasons I joined Bunq. Cheers

Hee Ward, just installed the app again (I skipped some versions) but what a progress you made! Incredible job!
