  • [REPORTED] TransferWise issues - money not being paid

I paid to a South African account in July, and all went through no problem. I have tried to pay into the exact same account, but an error message states the recipient details need to be updated with an email address. The transfer will not go through. I cannot update the recipient with an email address, nor can I add a new recipient without an email - there is no option to add an email! Very frustrating, starting to find many limitations with Bunq and losing my patience a bit. Any help?

    If you need to get in touch with bunq support about your transfer, you can contact Private Matters.

    If you need to get in touch with Wise, you can email them at bunq@wise.com or contact them via chat or phone here. Remember to always quote your Wise ID (shown on your payment in the bunq app) whenever you contact Wise.

    My Wise payments have been working fine so far, but for certain destinations there might've been changes at Wise that didn't make it back to the bunq app. Of course, you can always just use the Wise app and pay via iDEAL from bunq to get the same payment conditions and speed should an error like this hold you back from using the integration in the bunq app. If you have already used the integration in the bunq app before, you already have a Wise account that you just need to log in to (maybe you need to reset your password for Wise if you never had one).

      Thank you for reporting this to us! The bug is only affecting ZAR payments. Our developers are aware of it and are working towards fixing it as soon as possible. I'll update this topic once the issue has been solved.

      In the meantime, please initiate ZAR payments from the Wise website directly. The field to insert recipient's email address exists there 👌
