• QR code generate

Hi, we will be having a broader event where we’re expecting visitors to join our boot and pay for items. We were wondering whether it’s possible for us to generate a QR code with the amount that visitors could scan to pay for the items. Is that possible? If so, could you help explain how?

Thank you
Cozybyloubna

    @New-Turquoise-Jaguar-1569790991#234115 hi,

    You can create different QR-codes online that contain your bunq.me link, for different amounts.

    The content of the QR:
    https://bunq.me/[change_this]/1.5/test

    The 1.5 in the URL is the amount, and “test” is the payment description.

      @Bastiaan#234119 Hi Bastiaan, thank you for the tip! I’ve tried it and it indeed seems to work. I believe I can now make multiple QR codes (for example using shortcuts from iOS) for the products that we will be selling. However, is my understanding correct that this does not seem to work if I sell more of the same product at once? In that case, would that mean I have to make another QR code if a customer buys 2 product a’s?

      Not sure whether that would be helpful on the event with the pressure of different customers all with different demands but would be great to get your thoughts.

      Thanks
      Mohammed

        @New-Turquoise-Jaguar-1569790991#234123 Hi Mohammed, you could also just make a single QR code with your bunq.me link. Then the customer would have to put in the amount by themselves. If you want a fixed description, you can still add it like: https://bunq.me/[yourpage]/description Or you generate these URLs with QR codes on the fly on your phone with the right amount and description and let the customers scan from your phone.

          @Jakob-Y#234127 Hi Jakob, understood thank you. Perhaps the open QR code is the most convenient. Not sure how that will come across if customers have to put their amounts in themselves but looking for the quickest way to do business and selling the products. Thank you for the help.

            @Bastiaan#234143 Hi Bastiaan, thanks a lot for this! I think you just solved the issue very efficiently. This should do the trick. Thanks again for sharing and enjoy your weekend!

              @New-Turquoise-Jaguar-1569790991#234144 Hi Bastiaan, sorry for coming back to you on this. I’ve tried the code but when I scan the QR with another phone (android) it seems to link to the general bunq.me page. Just to make sure I’m not doing anything wrong: I need to change the text where there is now “Pay” to the name from my personal page, correct? So if my link is: https://bunq.me/COZYbyLoubna, I need to change the text box to: COZYbyLoubna. Am I understanding this right? If I do this and I creat a QR it brings the Android to the general bunq.me page.

              Perhaps the question is straight forward but hope you can help.

              Regards,
              Mohammed

                @Bastiaan#234143 Hi Bastiaan,

                I think I just posted a question without tagging you. So wanted to try this way again. Can you see my below question?

                Thank you
                Mohammed

                  @Jakob-Y#234152 Hi Jakob,

                  This is even more convenient and it does work. Not sure whether you’re supposed to see the description on the page as it doesn’t show up but perhaps it’s added once the payment comes through. Even if it doesn’t, it should at least do the trick so thanks again. Especially on this Sunday. Wishing you both a great weekend!

                  Regards,
                  Mohammed

                    @New-Turquoise-Jaguar-1569790991#234154 but perhaps it’s added once the payment comes through

                    Indeed it is. The user can only see the description if they click on "Back" on that page, but it will get added to the payment in any case :)

                    Also some things to keep in mind about bunq.me pages in general:

                    • The user could manually change the amount and the description on that page.
                    • The user can choose between different payment methods. If they pay with iDEAL, Bancontact or with credit/debit card, you will get the money into your account after a few seconds. However, if they choose "Sofort", you will only get the money after 1-2 business days.
                    • If the user chooses to pay with credit/debit card, there's a card processing fee for you that will get added to your next monthly statement. The other payments options are completely free.
                    • There are daily limits for receiving bunq.me payments, depending on the payment methods that the users choose. (For a business account up to 2000 Euros via iDEAL, 5000 Euros via card payments and 250 Euros via Sofort per day.) There are also lower and upper limits per transaction for some payment methods.

                      @Jakob-Y#234155 Thank you for elaborating. Especially on the limits. I’ll read through the link you included to avoid any surprises!

                        2 years later
                        2 months later
                        a year later

                        Hi, the shortcut is great. But the link it generates is making an error. It's not taking the description, but again the link name. Can you please check it and fix it? Would be great if I have this working.
                        Thank you!
