• I don’t have a BSN. And it seems I cannot get

I cannot get one because I am not a resident here. I need bunq for artists funds for projects in Amsterdam but I don’t live here for long. Is BSN necessary?

    You need to be a resident of an EEA country to open a bank account at bunq. Just physically being in The Netherlands is therefore not enough. If you happen to be a citizen of another EEA country or you have a resident permit for another EEA country then it's probably a better idea to register with your address there. You'll still be able to get an NL IBAN in any case.

    Should you not be a citizen or resident of an EEA country at all, then unfortunately bunq isn't allowed to have you as a client. You can find more info on this topic here: https://together.bunq.com/d/1015

      Ah I have a Portuguese permit, how can I get a BSN? I try to put the Portuguese tax number but doesn’t work

        @New-Jade-Springbok-2868811694#234450 Then register with your Portuguese address information first. If that doesn't work (for example because your phone tells bunq that you're currently in The Netherlands) then you can always manually contact them through Support Chat to change your info accordingly. You will then have to enter your Portuguese tax number instead of a Dutch BSN.

        You can find the Private Support chat in the app by following these steps:

        1. Go to Profile
        2. Tap on Settings in the right corner on top
        3. Scroll to the bottom, tap on Need help? Get Support, then choose Personal Support
