If so, it means we’ve decided to temporarily limit spending on your account. Keep reading to see why this might have happened.
What are additional payment limits?
At bunq we take security seriously. We’ve placed your account under review to make sure your money stays safe. Therefore additional payment limits will apply to your account.
No need to worry - our relevant department will review your account within 5 working days and in the meantime you’ll still be able to use your account for regular day-to-day expenses, like groceries.
You'll always receive a notification for such restrictions of your account(s). Keep in mind that once our staff has reviewed your account, we’ll inform you.
Can I still receive money on my restricted account?
If you’re expecting any incoming payments to your bunq account while we’re reviewing it, they'll continue to register as usual. This means that if your account applies the temporary limits on outgoing payments on the day you’re expecting your salary, the money will still be credited to your account. In case of permanent account closure, all incoming payments made during the review period will be returned to their sender.
Why has my account been restricted?
We continuously monitor users’ activity and ensure their financial security and compliance with bunq’s Terms and Conditions.
